The idea of American education seems to stem from the vast inequality in American knowledge, strong in scientific discovery vs a populace that has been shown to be completely vacuous on basics such as geography, history and politics. Of course some of the latter is somewhat imaginary and conjecture, but dumb American's tend to be brazenly confident, in a way that allows videos to show the dumb American stereotype.
Combine with this the rise of the sjw hysteria in universities, who share with their less progressive contemporaries their unapologetic, opinionated and loud demeanor.

You can clearly see from >>77656880 that American universities are doing well, at least those at the top. Britain could be said to be doing the same, our lower forms of education are in poor state compared to our Russell's group universities.

The real problem then, stems from American public schools (from what I've heard from American's) and in our country in the comprehensive school approach, now being re-branded as the academies. To fix the problems afflicting the primary and secondary education may lie in culture or it may lie in school organisation itself (selection by ability rather than money seems to me a better way to solve the problems).

tl:dr American public education up to highschool is shit and needs fixing.

Memes aside, my point was that it's unnecessary to teach every single high school student calculus and such, since the vast majority of students will go on to work in fields where such knowledge isn't needed. Plus, those courses do exist in almost all schools for high-performing students who choose to take them, they just aren't required. I'd rather have teenagers that are educated in the basics and aren't socially inept, unlike many Indians who spend almost all their time studying and thus have no experience talking to girls and making and maintaining friendships.

The solution to the perceived problems with American education cannot be solved simply through budget. To say America should spend less on wars on schools and less on war is certainly not a bad perspective, but considering that the United States already spends more per student than most countries perhaps we should consider more than funding. Military spending in the U.S. is undoubtedly bloated, but it also is necessary for our current state of hegemonic stability. Brazil, please take into account that the U.S. on average spends about eight times more per student than you.

The problem with addressing the U.S. education system is how widely varied it is. As mentioned above, there are vast differences between public and charter schools, and even among those there are considerable differences. Since individual U.S. states manage their own education systems, their budgets, policies, and student:teacher ratios are all over the board; sometimes even within cities or counties of those states there are huge differences. A point of note is that rural schools, which typically get less funding but have higher student:teacher ratios tend to see more academic achievement at the collegiate level than their urban counterparts. This can stem from the fact that many U.S. states fund schools based purely on the number of students, meaning classrooms that pack in 50+ students into a room will be getting significantly more funding than those with ten, despite the diminished returns.

When anyone discusses the posters here, you must understand that certain countries have to be seen through a lens. To be here you must have a decent handling of the English language, some computer ability, a computer, and internet access. This is commonplace among Americans, meaning virtually anyone can access this without difficulty, be they smart or dumb. For poorer countries, say for instance, Brazil, this is a barrier than tends to prevent many less fortunate individuals from experiencing this shit.
