Believe it or not 胎盤 (human placenta) is a legit Chinese medicine, and I was shocked when I heard it, too. Apparently my grandmother went to the hospital and ask for one and they just give it to her, and my grandmother had to get rid of all the blood and cook it.

I too disbelief at first because this is down right barbaric, but apparently people in the past are willing to eat everything that some dip shit said that it might work to cure certain disease, but not regular medicine
