American influence is really strong in country areas.

For example more country music which is derived from American culture.

Does England even have country music?

yeah because farmers put stickers on their ute
>>
>>77643273
It's just not really true, though on the surface we are extremely similar. You have to remember that the point of Canada is to be not American. Basically a bunch of Euro immigrants to North America that saw how the USA were doing things and specifically decided to be not that.
Different history, government, demographics, dialects, economy, sometimes language, religion, architecture, views regarding our role in the world, human rights, etc.

I can see how we usually look and sound identical to outsiders though.
>>
>>77643469

>>
>>77643541

>>
>>77643667
jesus fucking christ

if I were texan I'd be genuinely insulted at how you'd be simplifying my culture
>>
>>77643699
And you don't over simplify when you say Aussie Cities are like America?

You can say that Aussie city's are like NY.
I can say rural areas in Australia are like rural areas in Texas.

Neither of us would be wrong.
>>
>>77643667
You really seem confused by the idea that this is just the culture that organically comes from Anglos living in very large areas. It's not specifically American, that's just the most visible version of it.
>>
>>77643791
>And you don't over simplify when you say Aussie Cities are like America?
when did I EVER say that?
>>
>>77643843
Okay but lots of people here try to claim that even though rural towns have similarities to America too.

Why the fuck are you even arguing with me then?
>>
>>77643791
The difference is that cities intentionally set out to copy one another. If a certain type of business is profitable, or entertainment, or a type of building or other infrastructure works, other cities around the world will copy and paste.
It tends to be different in the country. They don't drive trucks, ride horses, etc, because they saw Americans, or anyone else, doing it. That's just what works best on a ranch or farm, no matter what country it's in.
>>
>>77643934
are you actually thick? I'm saying that rural australia is very, very different to the american south
>>
>>77643798
How does this not apply to Aussie cities too?
>>
>>77626775
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmL72sgVdAQ
>>
>>77643273
>America and Canada are the same thing.
American cities are full of niggers and spics (with some chinks and hindus). Canadian cities are full of chinks and hindus (with fewer niggers and spics). Know the difference. I've been all around Canada and USA and it's a constant of nature.
>>
>>77626775
Playing with dolls and seafood
>>
>>77643994
Except that country music was litteraly influenced by American music.

Rodeos were literally copied over from American culture.

Lots of tues are just driven as fashion accessories by rural people.

Some tues such as HSV clubsports can be so expensive that they don't want to search the tray.

Many Commodore utes in country towns are lowered and can't even carry much stuff.
>>
>>77644005
It mostly does, the difference being that cities do it on purpose. Historically the country has been isolated and adopted similar things independently.
A good example is fashion. Urban people have always enjoyed copying the fashion of major cities like New York, Paris, Milan, and London. Whereas rural folk choose clothes that are sensible to their climate/weather/job.
>>
>>77643995
Except it's not.

Sydney and Melbourne have just as much difference from NY and LA as central has has from the south.
>>
>>77626775
https://youtu.be/AjyyoAeHPzU
>>
>>77644196
It doesn't matter why they have similarities it's the fact that they do that's important.

You can't say that Syndey and Melbourne are unaustralian because they have similarities between MY and LA and then just ignore all the similarities rural Australia has with rural America.

It doesn't matter why the similarities are there.. the fact is they are there.
>>
>>77644196
Do you have any idea how much rural people spend on their Acubra brand hats?

They are expensive.
>>
>>77644152
>Except that country music was litteraly influenced by American music.
Country music grew out of Euro style folk music. This is why people argue over someone like Johhny Cash, different people say he did gospel, country, americana, folk, etc.

>Rodeos were literally copied over from American culture.
Rodeos started with the Spanish and were adopted independently by lots of cattle countries like Canada and Australia. I imagine they ride bucking sheep in New Zealand too (not only in the bedroom)

>Lots of tues are just driven as fashion accessories by rural people.
Yes, as urbanisation, commuters, and an easier lifestyle have crept into rural areas, they took their formerly utilitarian vehicles and made them nicer. This isn't distinctly American

>Some tues such as HSV clubsports can be so expensive that they don't want to search the tray.
See above

>Many Commodore utes in country towns are lowered and can't even carry much stuff.
This is generally considered a Mexican thing. Here the trend is to lift them until they are impractical. Still not a distinctly American thing.
>>
>>77644426
That's missing the point. It has nothing to do with how much they cost, it has to do with why that style is popular and whether or not it's because of America.
>>
>>77644603
Country people don't but their 200 dollar akubra hates because they need a 200 dollar hate.
The ute muster crowd buys them for fashion.
>>
>>77644469
America adopting things from other places still doesn't change the fact that rural Australia has many similarities with the American south.
>>
>>77644677
Yes, I know, my point is that they wear that style of hat because historically it was effective on ranches, then over time it just became part of the fashion, not because Americans wear a similar hat and they thought it looked neat.
You're moving the goalposts
>>
>>77644737
Of course they do, as does Canada. Anytime you take a 19th century Anglo and stick him on a 10,000 acre cattle ranch he will eventually start to act, dress, and live a certain way. This doesn't make rural Australia "America-lite: Now With 100% More Kangaroo, Didgeridoo, and Crocs"
>>
>>77644784
I'm not moving any goal posts.

The point I am trying to argue is that Rural Australia is like the American south.

I'm not trying to argue about how it became like the American south.
>>
>>77644902
The only Aboriginals that play the didgeridoo are street performers and musicians.

It's not like in the movies where aboriginals always carry a didgeridoo.
>>
>>77626775
I have family in straya. They're cunts at all the right times and I admire them for that.
>>77639548
Extremely accurate
>>
>>77644902
Further more this is kind of all a bunch of bullshit coming from someone who gets upset when I say America and Canada are basically the same place.
>>
>>77642209
>How is that not like the American south you retard?

Rodeos are are southwestern phenomenon.

It's bothersome how a lot of non-Americans can't differentiate between the southeast (what people mean when they say "The South") and the southwest.
>>
>>77645862
Nobody says the southwest.

I have never seen a travel documentary that says...
>We are going to explore the true heart of America, The south West.

I have seen plenty that say the south or the deep South though.
