Yes
Undoubtedly the most popular foreign food in the country besides stuff like pizza and hamburgers that's been so thoroughly Americanized that it's no longer thought of as foreign here.
At least that's true in California and Arizona. I don't know about the rest of the country.
>>
>>77604069
It is starting to get popular amongst poor as fuck students as it is cheap af.
>>
>>77604230
Chink food is as popular as Mexican food in the US.At least in NY
>>
>>77604291
>Chink food is as popular as Mexican food in the US
A close second, but I don't see as many Chinese restaurants around here as I do Mexican, and I've lived in Southern and Northern California my whole life. Specially considering Mexican food has been picking up steam in the past years too.
>>
>>77604365
>I've lived in Southern and Northern California
To clarify, I go back and forth between the two.
>>
>>77604291
Not remotely, there's a Mexican food cart on every other corner of my city
>>
>>77604254
Where in Spain are you? I wanted to try it but 404 not found here.
>>
>>77604546
Madrid. There is like a new franchise called tierra that is expanding like crazy. Its funny that Madrid is like the only city in the whole country where Mexican food is more popular than Kebabs. Thanks Barajas and the sudaca invasion for that
>>
>>77604409
I said NY.Maybe you just live in the border
>>
>>77604629
>the sudaca invasion
south americans dont eat mexican food
>>
>>77604843
>mexicans are not sudacas
chicano detected
>>
>>77604865
But the word sucada is Mexican, why would Anglo-Americans call Mexicans sudacas?
>>
>>77604865
There are not many Mexicans in Spain, so your posts still makes no sense.
>>
>>77604843
>south americans dont eat mexican food
They LARP about it. They hire Peruvians and Ecuatorians that LARP as Mexicans as waiters. It is pretty lame
>>
>>77604069
not really, and the restaurants are shit
could use some real Mexicans here :)
>>
>>77604865
>chicano detected
how does that invalidate anything I said?
>>
>>77604925
Peruvians are REALLY proud of their food (seriously), why would they pretend to sell ours?

there was a long long line when they first opened a Taco Bell store in Tokyo
if you could count that as popularity of Mexican food
>>
>>77604897
>There are not many Mexicans in Spain
There are more than they are recorded as they usually come with a Spanish passport. In Madrid there are plenty
>>
>>77604975
>why would they pretend to sell ours?
Because they're working as waiters, not chefs. They're not at the restaurant to make a name for themselves, they're there because they need a job. Also, because there aren't as many Mexicans in Spain to begin with, so they have to hire other Latin Americans to fill the gap.
>>
>>77604230
Is there any french restaurants in the USA?
>>
>>77604975
Money? No one gives a shit about Peruvian food while everyone knows Mexican food due Amerifat media
>>
>>77605051
>plenty
And that is?

Tortilla.jpg
103KB, 500x332px
>>77604960
He didn't mean South Americans. Sudaca = Any form of Latin American. It's just that Mexicans stole our word and made it into something different like they did with tortilla.
>>
>>77604069
Yes I love Mexican food. There are some really good places to go to it this type of food in the capital
>>
>>77605076
Yes, but it's not as accessible as other countries' cuisines. What I mean by that is that French cuisine is seen more as a higher class thing in the US, so the restaurants are more sparse, usually in downtown locales, and very pricey, at least compared to what most Americans eat on a day-to-day basis.
>>
>>77605076
French restaurants are everywhere to fill le expensive restaurant niche
>>
>>77605122
to go to eat*
>>
>>77605057
But how does that make them the reason for there being that type of food in Spain? They don't eat our food, and if they are only doing it for the jobs, they are clearly not the reason behind it.
>>77605093
So, Latin Americans are not blame, but the American media is. Glad we could work that out.
>>
>>77605100

Sudaca is how you called south Americans that immigrated there during the dictatorships
>>
>>77605095
My best friend from childhood was a Mexican and there was like 4 families in my urbanization. They come here mostly due safety reasons.
Granted they are mostly upper middle class white mexicans and not your average cholo
>>
>>77605201
You need brown goblins to make the LARPing. Mexican is only popular in Madrid which contains almost all the umpalumpa inmigration of the whole country.
It is like Moroccans opening kebab stores. Kebabs are popular but they have nothing to do with Morocco, but as they look turkish they focus on that

>>77605051
I'm having a hard time believeing that just based on this gap. Why the hell would Mexicans immigrate to Spain? >90% that immigrate come to the US, the rest go to Canada.
>>
>>77605233
It's not about the region, we just don't distinguish between South, Central and North American Spanish speakers. All sudacas.

Same way latin americans would call a guy from Barcelona "a Galician".
>>
>>77605244
4 families is not a lot. And personal experiences are not what I am asking for, but I'm asking actual verifiable numbers instead.
>cholo
That word has different meanings depending on the country. Here it only means a very specific type of clothing/speaking and nothing else.
>>77605336
But how does that make them the reason behind it?
>not many mexicans in spain
>south americans are more common but they don't eat our food
The fact that you use them to LARP and they accept because they want the job still doesn't explain the restaurants themselves being there.

But whatever, I don't want to become tiresome with this nonsense. Believe what you want.
>>
>>77605344
I think former colonies can move to Spain legally really easily. Also those numbers are quite big.
>>
>>77605447
There are more than 10 times more Brits in Spain than Mexicans.
>>
>>77605434
>4 families is not a lot
In a block with 20 flats it is a lot.
>>
If taco is mexican then yes. But then again, our tacos are not real tacos.
>>
>>77605434
>But how does that make them the reason behind it?
Mexican food= brown indian manlet food
Kebab=muslim food
It is pretty simple. In London you will see Pakis being in charge of Kebab stores and in France you will see Algerians. You need brown umpalumpas to do the same with Mexican food.
>>
People here are more excited about the upcoming foreign fast food restaurants opening up shop. Lots of people like to feel like they're eating like Americans and think it's fancy or something.
The day our Carls Jr. opened there was a huge line of people camping from the day before, lots of hipsters and normies flock to a restaurant/bar called Food Porn (because the name being in english means it's fancy right?).
I can't wait for Wendy's, Red Lobster and Whataburger to come here to have all these retards being hyped for shitty fast food.
>>
I have literally never seen a mexican restaurant outside of copenhagen.

Mexicans outside of Mexico don't stop talking shit about how Mexican food is the best.In Ireland I was with a bunch of Mexicans and they didn't shut up about it
>>
>>77605517
Yeah, but the average Spaniard sees a Mexican the same as a Bolivian or Argentinian etc. When you add the numbers together they're quite significant

I'm thinking in going abroad and opening up my own little restaurant in a country where real Mexican food it is highly obscure. I've seen several stories of people who did this and succeeded. Mainly in Europe.
>>
>>77605517
>>77605932 *according to /int/ anyway lol
But also, we are segregated to the coast and actually help the economy. "Sudacas" are probably subject to more racism because they're competing for the blue collar jobs like Poles/Romanians etc are seen here.
>>
>>77606108
>help the economy
lol.Brits are just here to leech and get red. When you are kicked out of the EU I would bet that most Brittish residents won't be able to get a resident VISA

I get what you are trying to say, but that has nothing to do with my point.

I doesn't matter if Spaniards lump Latin Americans together, and that "they look alike". Mexicans themselves are not many, and South Americans don't eat, know or care about Mexican food, no matter how much the "look alike".
>>
>>77604069
There is a Mexican rest in my cit.
I ate their.

It's known but not popular.
>>

You are falling for the meme again. There are 200k Mexicans with Spanish nationality due muh heritage. They don't need to get a VISA and don't count as inmigrants

Spain is a Ius sanguinis country. If you have a Spanish grand father you can get the nationality whenever you want.

>>
>>77606415
You don't get it. All you need to get the Spanish nationality is having some kind of Spanish ancestor and living here for like 2 years. It's that easy for Pedro Gonsales to legally become a spaniard.
>>
>>77606486
>Según la legislación vigente, tienen derecho a poseer la nacionalidad española5 los considerados «españoles de origen» por consanguinidad (ius sanguinis)
It is in the Spanish civil code

because we eat mexican food every single day, in every single meal, even our snacks are somoehow mexican related.
8 out of 10 meals I've eaten in my whole life are some Mexican or """Mexican""" dish. Of course we love when some change is introduced in our fucking life, something new even if its american shit.
Personally I freaking love Ihop and their butter filled pancakes that let your whole mouth a thick layer of butter.

Look men we fucking love to jump border walls, but why in hell would we go to a country with a 17% unemployment rate when up above us there are 2 great places where to work, I just don't see the point familia
Please if you have a source for you claim you could just as well link it.

Which is worse, according to this Spanish news, around 15k out the Mexicans in Spain already came back between 2008-20013 alone precisely because of the crisis.
