A lot of Hindus are vegetarians but not all. I would guess 60% of the Hindus are vegetarians. Rest 40% eat some form of meat, mostly chicken but mutton and fish too. A very small percentage eat beef/buff.
Most of the Muslims eat meat. Jains are mostly vegetarian. Sikhs are 50-50.

Arrange marriage was the normal way of marrying in all of the world before 19th century, not just India. In fact it was common in some bumfuck parts of Korea and even Japan until recently.
It has got out of fashion becuase its shit. Your wife will most likely not love you and vice versa, and not have the same interests.You cant really know the other person before marrying. It would be just like business, with the end goal of raising the kid. Love after marriage is a meme, because you wont really have a choice. And about looks it doesnt matter much, if you like someone your brain releases some hormones and tricks you into beleiving she's two or three points higher, and Im okay with that.
