the government set up a guest worker style program, so even small towns have a bunch of filipinos working for corporate franchises, makes it hard for local kids to get jobs, and makes working less attractive when all your coworkers speak tagalog

then at the top end only good jobs left tend to be government jobs, which are supposed to be representative of the population, so asians have an easier time getting them, and the chinese have made toronto and vancouver unaffordable
