Has anybody been to (pic related)?
I was thinking of going there for two weeks this year mostly because of slav reasons. Can one have a good time there as a tourist? What about art, history, culture, going out at night? What does one have to keep in mind? What about cute slavic women?

So far I was only planning on going to Minsk but I am open for suggestions.
I wanted to visit more slavic countries and I think Belarus is a good place to start as they have preserved their culture quite nicely.
How was partying there? Are people hesitant towards contact with foreigners? I heard from a friend who has been there that the locals usually keep to themseoves but if you manage to befriend them they tend to get very outgoing. Any tips in general?

No I dont think so.
Do you speak Russian?
Also theres a nice kind of village-museum sort of think outside of Minsk with traditional Belorussian stuff and moonshine. Check it out

I used to have russian in school back in motherland but I forgot most of it. I was planing on refreshing my russian a few weeks before the trip. Not that I will be able to speak it perfectly but I guess it would help with getting around and getting to know people a bit.
Thanks, I'll look into that.
