What is your cunt's main fighter jet?

Do you think its any good? Did you make it yourselves? What's your Air force's plan for its next fighter jet?

We use Mig29's rn. Kinda outdated and not even the latest version, obviously we didn't make it. We plan to modernise our air Force but they're not sure if they want American F16s, F18s , European euro fighter, swedish Grippen or just the Russian newer version of the Mig29's or su 30

Minus those burger F-15 and F-22 that came for exercise this is all the planes in service.
Hornets for multirole and Flanker-H as missile boat, MiG-29 is retired now and MH17 caused a halt to any orders on slav stuff.
Only manufacture disposable equipments.
The Flanker needs air conditioned bunkers all year, less user friendly and worse customer support so the air force favours the Hornet and western stuff. Still they modified the Flanker to carry paveway 2 bombs recently and other western munition may be in the works.
Jet programme put on hold for light helicopters and more ship hulls due to maritime concern after pirate invasion.

The Air frames are done
Them being our main fighter since the 1980s we took of them everything they got
Its clear that repairing them is not going to cut it. We still send the 3 to 6 that are still air worthy to take part of interception exercises with the USAF but they are better now sitting next to the T-33s and Vampires at the air force museum.

Hello there my fellow 3rd worlders.
A4 "AR" Fightinghawk.
Its an A4 with a F16 radar (ARG-1 v2=AN/APG-66).
I dunno man, most likely an old F16 block
>>
Eurofighter Typhoon.
Actualky it's pretty good, it's issues rather heir from severe underfunding, bad quality checks and too few spareparts.
Also our pilots fly too less.

But the aircraft itself is really good.

After the last modernization they won a few more decades of life, but it was limited to electronics and radars since the airframe is also close to death.
>>
>>77439163
For us modernising them is financially pointless, just to give live to a frame that is decades old.
The new blocks of F16s assure a good supply of spare parts and modern equipment, we have no need for ultra stealth cant fly in the rain fighters so they will be more than fine
In 2006 our air force asked for 48 F16 and the navy asked for 12 to 24 F18
Congress deny them so the F5 were left to rot
Just now we replace our PC7s our military runs on a very tight budget

Why don't buy Gripens or Israeli Kfirs?
>>
>>77439661
Gripens are in strong considerations
Kfirs were going to be our fighter, but the Americans blockaded that purchase
So its better to play safe with F16s, but its still not clear
>>
>>77439720

>but the Americans blockaded that purchase

Why?
>>
>>77439768
The engines were made by an american company
And they used some bullshit about copyright to prevent a sale that wont give a profit to the company that designed the engine
The Kfir purchase involved a production plant in Mexico to sell the fighters to Latam and provide spare parts to our own Air Force
>>
>>77439799

Doesn't make sense veto something that goes to Mexico, an ally.

So it's the F-16D?

Anyways I'd rank it like this Croatia

F-16D > Gripen > F-15/Eurofighter

Croatia is a small country so they don't need a large aircraft with huge range like the F-15, and the Eurofighter is way too expensive

F-16D can perform pretty much any role and it's cheap.

Not him, but Eurofighter doesn't match the deep strike requirement that the RAF wants.

However, whilst there are differences between the A/B there's still significant logistics benefit from a shared fleet (same AIS logistics system, software and training). Though I'm not a proponent of a split fleet as I'd like for the most to be gained out of the carriers.

Wrong. Have you ever been to an airport? Propellers are so quiet compared to jets. Its exactly the opposite of what you said. And when they break the speed of sound its ear-shattering

So they're going to have a fleet of three very different jets?

Really the only thing in common with the F-35 variants are the software and training. Multiple sources state that maintenance resources for the variants are all quite different

If only there was an Su-34 you guys could buy
>>
My country's new gen jet is top secret but it blows russian shit out of the water, not to mention american """"fighter"""".
>>
>>77453713

As it stands it is known there will be two different fleets.

Again, whilst yes there are differences between the F-35 variants they still share significant commonality. Even if it was/is just the software and training that is shared, that's a huge benefit.

>>
>>77453091
We're getting F-35 as a Harrier and Tornado replacement

We don't need STOVL for the whole requirement and Typhoon's range while carrying ordnance limited compared to Tornado and F-35. So F-35A is seen as a cost-effective solution to Tornado's strike capability while we're getting F-35B anyway

BAE makes money regardless of what we choose

Pretty sure all AWACS of the military superpowers(USA, Russia, China) are airliners and not executive jets because that's just retarded, especially for a large country.

There's literally no difference if it's an Airliner or a Regional Jet, what counts it's the radar.

Which in our case it can cover 450km.

Welding a radar on the top of an executive jet is a very African solution regardless. It's like putting a machine gun on a bike and calling it a tank. I can't even find interior pics of this piece of junk and i think i know why...

>>
>>77457419
Pretty sure the Brazilian version of Gripen will use A-Darter. Those missiles he mentioned are obsolete, they wanted MAR-1 integration, but they haven't mentioned anything about it for years already and when a Brazilian goes quiet about something, it means it's not happening.
>>
>>77458209

How they are obsolete?

Seriously everytime someone says it, they only spout memes and never give actual proof.
>>
>>77458312
Well, Piranha-1 already was obsolete a long time ago and MAR-1 has specs similar to anti-radiation missiles from the '70s and it has never been used in combat, so we don't know it's failure rate.

Considering all of the U.S. technology they've stolen and Russian Russian they've supposedly reverse engineered, I'm starting to think they are completely incompetent. They crash all the time too, because of little maintanance.

Infact, to run a MiG-29 for its entire designed service life, you need six engines.
To run a F-16 for the same ammount of flight hours, you need one engine.

So no, they dont need less maintanance

Actually our Su-30 is the one that needs an air conditioned bunkers all year. Year long 90%+ humidity is bad for everything but the F-18D is more resistant since Hornets were designed for carriers.
When the AF needs to kill someone for the first time in 3 decades they brought in the older F-18D and Hawk training jets from the other edge of the country and the program to replace MiG-29 strictly picks only western planes.
A jet is not the same as a gun and western customer support is simply better, the govt had to withheld payment on the Su-30MKM just to get Sukhoi to fix software problems.
