There's no defending that though. The boardwalk should be a nice place to chill by the river and take in the city but it's always populated by drunks and junkies
>>77422864
I finished the 6th episode this morning where Sakura thinks she's seeing her mother's ghost. I like the fact that her brother casually sees her mother floating around the house from time to time and then just goes back to reading the newspaper. I'm watching it together with Little Witch Academia though so I'm taking my time

You have a long way to go, I'm tempted to dive back in myself at some stage since I haven't watched it since I was a kid. I think it's something that would hold up very well.

>Little Witch Academia
I've been watching that and it's much better than the impression I got from /a/, even better than the movie. The episode with the gold fish professor was hilarious.
>>
>>77423273
Yeah I'm looking forward to continuing the journey, plenty to keep me occupied. I'm sad that Little Witch Academia won't experience the same fate; I'm already on episode 14 and I don't want it to end. The show makes me feel stupidly happy after any episode. I really loved that one and the one where they accidentally resurrect the principal's father. Sucy's episode is golden too.

I think a common complaint about the series is that the 'plot' doesn't really kick in until nearly halfway through the season but I figured out the revelation about Ursula like 2 episodes in. I'm perfectly content watching cute witches do cute things

Dislike how mentally ill people are nearly ALWAYS portrayed as really good looking girls with edgy looks and made look really sorry.

Majority of mentally ill people are ugly and nobody wants to actually acknowledge their problematic behaviours. They'd all rather just pander to some girl who is unable to emotionally take care of herself.
Ironically it is men who are responsible for this portrayal.

I've only ever seen one before. It collapsed on the patio seemingly from exhaustion, I put it on top of a hedge before it was eaten by one of the cats and it seemingly just flew off a few hours later. It squeaked a bit when I picked it up but didn't really struggle so I wasn't sure if it was injured but apparently being out of energy to the point of being unable to move is normal for bats.

When I was a child I just remember being told they were endangered and you shouldn't harm them because of it. Don't hear nearly as much about them now.

They're declining? How? And how can you check without digging up your garden?

Now that you mention it I have noticed there's much less snails around than when I was a child, but there are also far more slugs to replace them. Maybe slugs are just better than snails, survival of the fittest and all that.

You believe a transport body has socio-political interests they wish to force on the populace?
The intent is most likely to use the most palatable greeting possible that will avoid causing unintended offence to anybody which is good for business, not to virtue signal which generally is not.

Modern farming tools like tractors did hell to our ground dwelling birds. They made their nests in tall grass but now hay turners and tractors either crush the eggs or drive the young out into the open before they can fly. There's still pheasants around but not as much. My granny said decades ago you'd have trouble sleeping from the sounds of the corncrake, I've never even heard a corncrake before.

>>77430287
My dad likes them. He got really excited when he found one's tracks in the woods one day, he even caught one in a barrel and showed it to me before releasing it. They never bothered our poultry though. Heard they're great because they kill way more grey squirrels than red ones.

>>77430251
>People like you are a problem for bee's!
How rude, I keep my distance and let them go about their business with the flowers.
There used to be an underground beehive in my shed once. There was a small hole in the ground and every minute or so you'd see a bee either coming out or flying in. Shit was so cash. Sadly I think the hole got covered at some stage and they probably all died. There might be a large stash of honey buried underneath the shed right now.

Who cares how "welcome" they feel on their journey? They were never going to avoid using the Tube because of the original greeting anyway. The Transport Authority makes no net gain here (in fact they probably lost money on the report conducted to reach this absurd conclusion).

Public transportation is competitive, there are other options.

>I'd love meet the idiot that made that suggestion.
It was probably fairly innocuous. Something like "the focus study saw 2% of those asked felt the message was discriminatory. suggestion: change 3 words"
I think the broader issue is the fact it was considered newsworthy and that we're discussing the welcome message on a subway in a foreign country.

If the new message was there all along nobody would have had a problem with it. The right are drawing issue from the action of change, not the message itself. Similar to why we still have an Angelus before our most viewed national program, not because many particularly care or think we need one but because the act of change would be seen as submission and defeat to political opponents. It's all far from logical.

Now that I think of it I don't know why so many republicans hate the British royal family when it was English politicians that were the worst.
Think of it, Charles I and James II wanted Ireland to be better off and for Catholics to own land, it was their parliament that deposed them and invited that Dutch fuck over.
Cromwell is probably the worst villain in Irish history yet he ruled England and Ireland as a republic and hated the monarchy.
George V allegedly loved the Irish as his own people and was angry with Lloyd George for executing so many rebels. And it was Churchill that came up with the black and tans.

Really I think we would have been better off if the UK was an absolute monarchy instead.

Not really in London. The Tube is by far the most efficient. If you choose anything else you're either extending the duration of your journey or incurring increased costs.

Do you really think that anything close to 2% of the population would have been offended by the original message? As I said, those few that would be offended by it are morons and the company didn't stand to make any financial gain from appeasing them.

I can't imagine any scenario in which the motivation for this change wasn't virtue signalling. And virtue signalling is inherently bad, so I don't feel bad for getting mildly annoyed when I see it in action.

You replace 50 far over 50 billion cells everyday,if one of those cells gets corrupted, you've got cancer, the key to fight cancer is to detect it in a very early stage but if he still doesn't want to go,make him eat bitter apricot kernels, they contain laetrile a toxic chemical that fights cancer cells before it’s converted to cyanide and spread throughout the body. Some researchers believe that the cyanide would only harm the cancerous tumor and not the body itself.I've heard of people who eat a seed a day as cancer prevention, but you'd be better off doing your own research on this.

Hey lads of Ireland. I've seen that Ireland has gone to be one of the top dogs in terms of GDP per capita. I've been meaning to ask you about your living standards. I don't really know much about Ireland, you see.
Does this mean that if I go to Ireland now, I will see that everyone is pretty comfortable with nice houses and cars and so on, like we have here in Norway and in Switzerland? That you don't have poor people, and that your government is able to give all of you the best welfare state of the world(well on welfare that's Norway unparallelled as of now, but I mean near norwegian standards). I'm asking for your honest opinion, Ireland. I know that this is not the case in Singapore, Kuwait, Brunei, and Qatar even tho they are higher ranked in GDP per capita. For some reason they do not have even close to the same living standards. I don't know why tho, I don't know macro economics that well.

Those statistics tend be skewed by foreign corporations operating here. They make a lot of money but most of that isn't seen by anyone living here.
Living standards here are alright but not great. Maybe back in the Celtic Tiger years when everyone was fucking rich.

Have you ever thought about the time it takes for a star's light to reach us? Its many many years. A lot of stars you see today might have died thousands or millions of years ago, but their old light is still travelling through space.
Also if you see a star blinking rapidly its a quasar, but most likely youre just seeing a plane

>Where in Norway would you recommend for a week or two-week visit?
If you have one week I'd say you should go to Bergen and then Ålesund, if you feel you have good enough time then also Oslo. I know it's tempting to prioritize the capiral, but trust me Bergen and Ålesund is number 1 and 2 in how you should prioritize. Then Oslo as a 3rd. In Oslo you have viking museum, in Bergen you have Hansa. Ålesund would be your base for exploring the nature in that province. If you have two weeks I would say you should go to Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen, Ålesund. And then go north to see Lofoten islands. Tromsǿ is a meme city only nice during winter because you're guaranteed to see northern lights every night, unless it's cloudy. Would not prioritize it unless you actually come because of the northern lights (not to say those are not a good reason, quite beautiful), if you do then include Tromsǿ on your list, prioritize it over Stavanger if you come to see northern lights.

Light pollution makes me angry. Especially unnecessary lights in buildings or yards. Wish there was strict rules.
If you let your eyes adjust for 30 minutes you can see much more. Even taking out your phone will ruin your night vision unfortunately.
I wonder do dubs even know about how well we can see in the dark. Used to walk the countryside roads at night I'm itching black and you can see fine once you adjust to it but it takes time.

You can see the milky way and some nebula and star clusters with the naked eye too if you observe well enough in a good dark location.

When they were doing roadworks in my village they put in a bunch of streetlamps along the end of the road. They're completely pointless since the only thing out that way is the main road and a few houses, and I'm sure the people living in them would prefer walking home in the dark as they've always done instead of having those lights blaring through their windows every night.
Honestly everything to do with those roadworks was a terrible idea and everyone in the village, as well as those that drive through it on their commute, agrees that they were horrible and a slightly wider road wasn't worth sitting in red lights for almost an hour twice a day for months. I guarantee you that none of the politicians who proposed those roadworks lived anywhere near the village, they shouldn't be allowed to decide things that they have no understanding of.

Isn't there another air show in Leinster lately? I'm starting to miss the Salthill airshow, I was very close by when that helicopter door fell off back in 2007.

After hearing the Cardcaptor Sakura opening downstairs. I had to go down to make sure I wasn't hearing things.

They did, it's called A New Translation. If you mean an Origin type remake then I think there's already a manga of it, they could probably make an anime out of it after they finish up redoing the One Year War yet again.

The Cardcaptor Sakura opening, I heard right. The PS3 was set on autoplay.

That could work out. I have a lot of sweets that need eating, I have no issue with the occult since I'm not likely for Heaven anyways, I collected a lot of cards in my youth, fighting monsters is cool and I like frills.

This is the meme.
Just because of it's association does not mean the music is bad or of less value. It's actually quite a good song and almost a classic at this stage. You should learn to interpret and appreciate music more for what it is.
Not judge it based on what a minority of internet retards associate it with. It's funny when accompanying angst memes but that's about it. Unfortunately you've bought into it and now are part of the pleb meme.
Kill yourself.

I'll be honest lads, Linkin Park was always a band I really enjoyed, Hybrid Theory was an excellent album and one of my all time favourites. It's a shame they emerged at the same time as the emo phase and got so heavily and unfairly associated with that.

Linken Park have always been fucking terrible. I realized that when I was 16 and caught not listen to any of their choons without rolling my eyes. If you like it, grand, it's probably teen nostalgia, it never held up for me even tough I was LP crazy like any kid or teen in the early 00's. Because Chester necked himself, all these bandwagoners are saying they loved LP, like whenever any musician dies. Also Jay Z is a mediocre rapper

same! I feel kinda bad that I didn't follow them religiously like I used to, especially now that Chester's gone
this is the only musician whose death I actually gave a fuck about though. maybe it's nostalgia

It's sad he necked it and left behind all those kids and devastated his fans but I personally wasn't distraught. I cared a lot about Cornell's suicide, I was a fan since I was about 11 and he had fucking talent
>>
>>77450950
Very hipster of you. I haven't listened to Linkin park since I was about 12 either but I'm not sheepish enough to be a wannabe hispter and jump on the le meme bandwagon. Their music is fine and a lot of work is put into it. You talk like it's chart or pop music.
The type of music they play is nowhere near the kind of stuff I follow today but I can still appreciate what they are. They have talent.
But because of their lyrics and associations people automatically feel the need to dislike them.

>Hipster
“Hipster” is a term co-opted for use as a meaningless pejorative in order to vaguely call someone else’s authenticity into question and, by extension, claim authenticity for yourself.
It serves no conversational function and imparts no information, save for indicating the opinions and preferences of the speaker
>>
>>77451352
