Reminder:

>93.52% of the 5,087,009 registered Quebecers voted in the referendum, a higher turnout than any provincial or federal election in Canada's history. The proposal of June 12, 1995 was rejected by voters, with 50.58% voting "No" and 49.42% voting "Yes". The margin was significantly smaller than the 1980 referendum. The "Yes" side was the choice of French speakers by an estimated majority of about 60%. Anglophones and allophones (those who do not have English or French as a first language) voted "No" by a margin of 95%. There was a majority "Yes" vote in 80 out of 125 National Assembly ridings.

English is almost illegal in Québec.

Not really. Quebec is such a different place to the rest of Canada that they practically have their own country anyways. The only difference with this would be that they'd have to get money from somewhere other than the other provinces to sustain themselves. I for one would whole-heartedly support a Quebexit.
>>
Why would it trigger them if you're the ones who apparently want to leave?
>>
>>77396070
Because they want to keep Québec in their Anglo claws >>77394641

I guess 'we' was the wrong word. I'm actually more French than Anglo, but I live in a fairly Anglo province. On behalf of Alberta, I'd like to let you know that we support Quebec's struggle against whatever retarded province wants to keep you guys in Canada.

You sound like /pol/ blaming the Jews for everything. Whatever, I'm a neutral party in this whole thing unless you consider people with mostly German ancestry "the Anglo". Albertan Anglos tend to feel the same way as me btw.

I cannot imagine Quebec as a soveriegn state having a stable first-world governments although feel free to prove me wrong. Go ahead and kick out the anglos and vote to leave. It will make living in Ottawa a whole lot more interesting
>>
>>77397209
Grouping Anglophones and Allophones as the same and then only blaming the Anglo is quite narrow minded, anon. It could have been Chinese people that solidified the "no" for all we know.
>>
>>77397359
It was overwhelmingly Anglos, Allophones were a tiny minority.

How do you know? Am I missing something in >>77394641? They don't seem to say whether or not Allophones were a minority in the vote.
>>
>>77397572
Because Gatineau is tied to Ottawa, and 1/3 of all government buildings are located across the river by law. It would be wierd if suddenly your local corner store became international territory. Also, Ottawa's population is heavily French and vice versa, so an ethnic separation like what some Quebecois want would really stir things up socially

I don't mind though, I believe in self-determination, and the people in Quebec know what they want, good or ill.
>>
>>77397679
Stop playing dumb.
>>
>>77397829
I'm not. I guess I'm literally dumb 'cause I don't see where it says anything about how Anglos were the majority of non-Francophone voters.

This might trigger some of you pussies but quebec is by far the most redpilled province
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_Charter_of_Values
Weird to see that the "defenders of nationalism" on this board get so triggered by quebec's determination to protect its own distinct culture. Read up a little on Quebec history and how french canadians never gave up fighting for their self-determination since the Brits came.

Let us all remember the time we finally put an end to the prospect of french influences and threats in the new world, the last time we were all to find ourselves wholly united in such a glorious cause

Literally all the other provinces are sucking the cocks of the Muslims that are coming here. Quebec is the only province that actually tried to put a little order to this mess.
