/int/ is a husk of its former self but I can't leave because this has been my home board since 2010 and I can't keep up with all the other boards, even /a/ (which was my home board before /int/ was created).

I think we have quite the opposite problem, 4chan is becoming more and more popular due to flooding of redditors into /pol/ without anyone giving a damn about integrating into 4chan culture. Back when I came to 4chan for the first time from SA, I didn't shit up the place with memes and mannerisms from SA, I lurked for a while until I was able to post as part of the community.
