Also, nothing is surprising about that map. All the usual areas voted blue or red. All the conservatives mostly live inland.

If you look at the southeast, see that blue belt? That's where most of the black population of the United States lives. It's also where cotton and tobacco were traditionally grown. I've always found it interesting that most of them haven't moved an inch.

You would actually be surprised that in the 20th century, a bunch of black people mass-migrated North to Northern cities. The 'black belt' in the South is only a fraction of the African American population in the USA today.
