yeah it's normal. the whole point is that it's vague. you want to pay more for clicks - they'll let you. this weeds out the newbs because they don't even have the initial testing money to learn bidding and different countries. if the audience is narrow the cpc is higher, if it's wide (30M+) it can be dirt cheap.

the facebook algorithm works on a bidding/auction type metric. it doesn't charge you for the actual bid amount you set but it fluctuates based on how many clicks you get and the relevancy score. so you could bid $1 and end up getting 0.15 clicks (pic related is my results on a $1 bid in the US).

the algo looks for ads based on who bid higher and shows those first.

my ads are so good i can get 0.15 cpc on a $1 bid. all us-wide clicks. spend at least $2k testing shit to learn the platform. I could teach you how to make 10k a month in 30 minutes but if you can't figure it out on your own you don't deserve it.

I have hundreds of sites, no one subject. Btw they're all compliant. Read the fucking TOS or they'll nuke your account fast. You MUST be compliant, don't push something and tell yourself a story it's "legit" when you know it's not. Some still successfully sling weight loss pills and binary trading but they're the kind of people who don't get sleep.

A big mistake I used to make is I tried too hard on my ads. When I started simplifying I did much better. The ads just have to feel like part of a real facebook feed, that doesn't stand out but stands out enough to get clicks.

So if you're selling a water filter you could make a bloggy type website, tell a "shocking" survival story and plug the filter inside the post instead of selling directly. Or you could do video ads, show the product and list the price. You could even start a shopify store and dropship from alibaba. Alex becker did a series where he made a shopify store and made it profitable with fb ads in 2 days for newbs. Search "alex becker shopify" on youtube. I love this guy.

Basically you just look at what others are doing and copy that and lose money until you break even. Run campaigns in conversion mode because sometimes fb nukes cookies in the redirect in other modes (they have their own browser that runs as a child of the default phone browser).

Also relevancy rating doesn't mean a lot. You could have 2 relevancy rating and still be profitable. I'm out now
