We do odd jobs that arent registered. We also smuggle shit and sell it, without owning a shop, without giving out documentation.
For instance, i build a machine from scratch, and i sell it to you for a certain amount of money.
No taxes, no fiscal bullshit, just handshakes and cash.
I can live off of doing that all my life, i will still be considered unemployed.
Also, if i dont give a shit about my pension in the future, i can avoid paying some fines and still claim certain benefits if im 'unemployed' but work undocumented in a firm, or a workshop.
Then again we have craftsman trades, no shop, no company, just a master craftsman with his tools, getting jobs from people that come to him.
Its pretty basic if you ask me.
I for instance work with my dad when we repair/build industrial machines, its our main source of income. I also do business with neighboring bootleggers, i hold 2 stands in the flea market and pay the workers to tend the stands.
On top of that, i also rent 2 apartments to college students.

You do get fined, but i dont know how much if you have an undocumented worker, havent paid taxes, bills, debts IF you own a company.
Also on the flea market, you have to rent the stands, but nobody will investigate you.

Also you can get off the record jobs while taking unemployment benefits. I've done many gigs while taking benefits, effectively I got upper middle class income for a part time job shoveling snow par time because benefits + off the record job with no taxes pays much better than working in my old university job.

The downside is it's not always easy to find gigs and if you get caught they'll fuck you in the ass forever.

There's steady jobs for maybe 40% of adults, but the market for random construction, farming, forestry etc. projects can keep everyone who wants to work busy..
Regulations are bullshit though. No-one's going to buy insurance, specialist gear and licensed equipment for one-time jobs, and professionals charge 4x more than people care to pay for something they could do themselves, eventually.
None of these projects are in a rush, so if there's no gray area workers, they just don't get done this year.
