Despite of what memepoliticians say, being in the EU basically implies no neutrality. If an outsider attacks any member of the EU, neutral countries such as Austria are still obliged to make their part.

I know what your talking about. But the EU is so loose that it's kinda 50/50 if all EU nations would follow through with it if it did come to that. I mean just look at the refugees, technically all EU countries are obliged to take in them, but some are refusing

That principle is one of those at the basis of the EU. The problem of migrants is due to a retarded thing that Southern European governments didn't thing through enough before signing. Basically, the first country where the migrant arrives is responsible for everything and of course Southern Europe is the most exposed. The problems are not refugees per se, but the whole identification process, we italians cannot do everything alone to identify who can enter Europe and who cannot. But there would be no excuses for not defending a fellow EU member. Pretty sure that would mean either the end of the EU or the rebel being kicked out.
