This area is extremely diverse lingustically.

Most of these languages are influenced by some certain languages. For example, Sanskrit, which influenced Thai, Khmer, Burmese and Malay. Some of the few analytic languages in the world are here, with some of the rarest phonemes and most heavily tonal languages in the world.
