This.
Also Swedish scrapyards are not only a place to dump cars, it's spare parts heaven.
If you drive any kind of of Volvo from between 1960 up to 2000 there will be parts in every yard available for almost free. Usually it's a self service kind of thing.

>>77078840
You should. I own a 940 my self.
Every single part is picked from other cars.
Trying to fit a new sensor near the manifolds for temperature readings. Driving to Germany today so she needs to be in tip top shape.

>all those 740s
I heard that the 740 is rice taxed in your country, is that true? There was an autotragic 86 GLE in pristine condition for 500 dollars that I was meaning to pick up for my first car, but someone bought it before I could call.
>>77083551
People just give away the GLE here.
>>77083640
Last one that I'll post.

Now to actually be relevant, most junk yards in my region consist of 10-20 year old cars because they rust so quickly. You have to go down south or west to find anything rare or vintage. There used to be this neighborhood of junkyards and auto shops known as Willets Point in Queens, NY. I saw it once before they tore it down.
>>77077057
In Norway we just stack the junk
>>77088772
I need this fucking T4
>>77083551
Nah the 740 is the most popular youth and gear head car in Sweden. Every single car meet, every race and gathering will have at least a 20-30 of them.
Most common with the T5 engine from the 850R. Many 500+ hp cars around.
I sent my mom's Fiat Uno to a junkyard some time ago. I didn't feel that bad since my old dog died.
Rest in pieces my old red friend.
>>77089135
This.
Also Sweden doesn't have the "ricer" thing going.
You drive what you want, people don't judge.
Having a 740 a tuned out engine isn't any different than driving a brand new car.
The term "No show, all go" comes to mind.
Car meets are usually mixed with tuners, Volvo's, muscle cars and retro cars.
If anything the 740 is considered the "farmers racing car"
Non-existent, waste of space the old shit all wanders off to eastern Europe or Africa. It's a shame because it means there's nothing old to restore.
