I find it funny that the same arguments found in /pol/ against immigrants from south of the border are similar to those said about mambo italianos, the irish and other Catholics in the late 19th and early 20th century.
Literally they were said to be lazy, to bring crime in the form of the mafia, for them not to be sending their best, for them to be socialists, sorta like /pol/ likes to say about them voting democrat, and anarchists, they didn't assimilate and they were violent.
Americans even feared that they were papist who were going to hand over the United States to the pope like some paranoid lot over there thinks the Aztlan shit isn't some fringe movement.

This is all true though. There are still mafia-related shootings here all organized by the Eternal Siciliano, and they generally control organized crime in quebec/ontario importing weapons and drugs.
Last year there was a full blown gang war across the region imo, killings and reprisal killings across a few cities.

Exactly. The same will happen to all those Central and South American descendants. I know kids with parents who speak Spanish and the kids themselves have a noticeable accent when speaking it.
There's nothing suggesting future generations from those regions have any more of a hard time assimilating than previous immigration groups.
