Bigger city = more pollution. The U.S. and other countries are investing their money for long term success rather than stupid projects that will only end up biting them in the ass. Renewable energy and science in general are receiving much more funding.

In NYC for instance, they were having trouble getting people to even move into the World Trade Center because people are so freaked out by terrorism.
