Maybe. Depends on the girl. I picked up some Polish from a gf from years ago. Her and her family spoke mostly Polish in their home so it wasn't hard to pick up things based on context and tone. Forgot most of it though.

Latvian has been influenced by germanic and finnic languages, while Lithuanian has been influenced by polish a lot more
The origin is the same, but the languages are vastly different
