Really makes it clear how safe Japan is if parents allow their 6-7 years old to just take the train like that to school.
I began returning home from school alone when I was around 9 or 10, (because all I had to do was walk to the very nearby bus stop and take a single bus) but only began going to school by myself when I was 12.

I sure as fuck wouldn't allow my 7 year old kid commute back and forth from school in here.
