Personal reasons. China and Japan are both fine too. At this point, I'm staying in Korea because I have a pretty cushy job and because I have learned the language.

Honestly, I don't feel particularly welcome, but I don't feel particularly unwelcome either.

Essentially, Korean society is just insanely competitive and ruthless, so while it is true that you will face some xenophobia, it's easy to overestimate the extent that this is particularly due to being a foreigner or English teacher or whatever.

How are your students? How are they different same from say American students? (Assuming youre American)

Pretty lazy and unmotivated, but hardly rowdy or aggressively unmanageable. Undestandable given that English is a compulsory subject they haven't chosen and has little or nothing to do with their major.
