It looks as if I'm going to need to move there for a little while due to life events and I'm wondering if the American and Russian cultures have enough in common that I'll be able to assimilate to the point of being a decent immigrant.
While I do consider America to be superior to Russia (and everywhere else on earth desu) I'm also determined not to be a hypocrite and to assimilate in my new home in order to show the proper respect due to being a guest in another's home.
Do American and Russian cultures have enough in common that this will be doable if I'm willing to make a concerted effort, or am I doomed to become a white version of western Europe's, unassimilating, invading hordes?
Advice from Ruskies, other slavs, or anyone else that has lived and worked in Russia will be greatly appreciated.

Because I don't want to be a hypocrite. I despise all the brown vermin in the UK and Europe trying to recreate their respective banana republics and sharia shitholes. I don't want to be one of them.
When in Rome: act as the Romans do. Besides, objectively inferior though it may be I am still fairly fond of Russia and Russian. I certainly respect the place far more than Germany and Sweden right now.

Family reasons. Fiance is Russian and wants to go back home to be closer to her mother who's ill and we might have our first kid there due to the extensive paid maternity benefits mothers get. We'd move back when they're old enough for school. I can keep my current job even if I move there.

Go for it bro, spend and hour a day studying Russian grammar and socialise at every opportunity you get. Anyone can integrate into any culture if they make the effort.
If you get fluent in Russian you will also have a useful skill for the rest of your life.
