snails are popular too in southeast asian areas colonized by france. its actually 10/10 very good great texture when cooked with lemongrass because it absorbs flavor/smells very easily.

The French didn't introduce snail to us, but they revived the tradition after the ottomans left. We ate snails since the Romans came.
