Why does UK have a greater global presence than Germany when Germany has a greater:

>Population
>GDP
>Size
>>
Nice bait
>>
one wants to destroy the world the other just themselves
>>
>>76871530
Germans are, of course, totally subhuman
>>
>>76871530
Because Britain had the word's largest Empire.
>>
Germans are a peasant race (look at the USA underclass)
>>
It's an anglo world, english is the lingua franca, and people still don't trust the germans completely

Also, the US is much closer to the the UK than to Germany, and that effects a ton of foreign affairs.
>>
>>76871530
Because there are more anglos worldwide than there are germans, does germany have 3 other germanies?
>>
>>76871530
The UK has greater soft power as well as much greater hard power. Though Germany isn't far behind on soft power depending on which measure you use.
>>
>>76871530
Because g*rmans are vile subhumans

>>
>>76871530
>Why does UK have a greater global presence
Do they?
I would argue that nowadays, Germany is much more relevant than UK
>>
>>76871530
Because the German colonies weren't made strong by the power of multiculturalism
>>
Because Germany got cucked hard after WWII and can barely considered Germany anymore.
>>
>>76873379
(Also colonies n shiieet)
>>
>>76871530
germanophobia is far more widespread than anglophobia
>>
>>76871530
Because germany has no culture
they don't make any sort of media that sells anywhere besides the germansphere

I'm of turkish descent and most of the germans are butt ugly and dumb

Merkel is literally beeing called leader of the free world while Britain is the laughing stock and an example for others why not to leave the EU.

Keep in mind, I am not saying that to gloat, nor do I like Merkel, this is just the reality of our current situation
>>
>>76875453
Not a single one of European countries has any real "soft power", except England. Nobody else makes tv shows, movies, globally-relevant popular culture etc.

In fact, South Korea pretty much has a far greater soft power with their kpoop and kdramas than all of EU combined (excluding UK of course) and I don't even like them.

>Why does UK have a greater global presence

It does? When big powers stop by Europe, China, Russia, India and the US etc. they go to Germany first. The UK actually seems to be incredibly isolated on the world stage for a country of its size, economic strength and past history.
>>
>>76871530
1. Germany was late to form and therefore didn't have many colonies and was the new kid on the block.
2. By that time the UK was the world's biggest super power and the biggest empire in history.
3. After the fall of the empire, the new world power was their former colony the USA, which also speaks English.

Football is the most followed sport in the world by a large margin.

You go to any backwater shithole and I can assure you that it would be pretty easy to find people that know the names of the top German football players, even the complete team.

Though you wouldn't really know that since the US is an anomaly in this regard.

Soft power also includes sports.

Germany is way more relevant than the UK nowadays.Germany has heavy industry,a favourable trade balance and a big grasp on all the EU and the ECB.The UK is just a huge ponzi scheme to laundry money from fiscal havens.Ones that little bubble pops their economy would just implode as they have nothing else to fill the gap.All those """service""" companies in the UK are just build on ponzi scheme
>>
>>76871530
Germans were never historically a very seafaring people, as much as they tried to be like France or the UK or even Portugal when it came to colonies it was never meant to be.

That and they were BTFO two times before even one hundred years of being unified.
>>
>>76876635
UKs soft powers comes from the monarchy and a bunch of financial schemes to laundry money from fiscal havens.Dr Who has 0 influence on global politics

Soft power is a whole swath of things. Britain's comes from its music, sports, top universities, embassies in countries, business, London, theatre, language, the Commonwealth etc. This isn't to mention Britain's creative industry which includes the likes of films, music and videogames, which is by far the biggest in Europe contributing £90 billion a year to the economy.
>>
>>76876700
I actually think that was proven false Idk
>>
>>76877013
If Dr.Who is soft power then soft power is meaningless
>>
>>76876827
I wasn't referring to the UK, if you ignored Britain altogether Europe would still be irrelevant in terms of soft power.
>>
>>76877067
I personally don't like Dr. Who but soft power includes things that people may not like, it's just the way it is and it's a measurement of people's interest in a country.
>>
Hey Brits, I have nothing against you, but do you seriously, unironically believe you have more influence in the world than Germany?

The EU is the second biggest economic zone in the world, produces the second most circulated currency in the world, recieves 75% of the entire world's tourism and has the biggest banks in the world. If that is irrelevant while Dr.Who or BBC documentaries are soft power, then soft power is useless

And since we are talking about soft power, convincing by non-military means only

>>76876080
Merkel is either seen like that or seen as a fucking Joke. Usually the latter amongst anyone who's not a globalist snob. Look at everyone across the globe laughing at Germany and Merkel for the refugee crisis. She's probably the most hated politician in Europe by a long shot.
>>
It's fairly simple: Brits have the bants while Germans don't. Ever heard of German humour? Me neither
>>
>>76877360
BBC is like the most expensive channel in the world.Besides UK media doesn't need translation while German media needs to be translated
>>76877390
>One of soft powers biggest contributors is culture and exporting of culture.
This is not a civ game.Soft power refers to cohercing a country to do something without using the military.Having a bunch of nerds watching Dr.Who won't make the British goverment any more powerful
>>
>>76877324
Ah you mean power. well in that sense they seem far more cozy with the US than you are atm, but you definitely have more power inside Europe

You're turning this into an argument about the entirety of Europe when the EU is not Germany no matter how much they might like to pretend otherwise. That is still like 4000+ euros for each car exploding. And I am guessing that they need more than 1 try to make it work
>>
>>76878355
Cheap cars aren't 4000€. More like 500€ if they're still roadworthy, but I can imagine them getting even cheaper broken cars that they then never actually show driving and only use for blowing up (e.g. buy the same car twice, one that works for the driving scenes and one that doesn't work for 100€ to blow up).
