How many of you are regulars here? Belfast lad here, started lurking the eire threads for maybe 15-20 mins a day over the past couple weeks. I've been here since our revival a couple years ago (think it happened sometime around Alberto Barbosa). I drift in and out. Usually come here when I'm feeling lonely and I have been feeling fairly awful the past month.
>>76854692
I've been here for around a year and a half. It's only been this nice for the past few months but I really do love it here when it's like this.

>>76855001
I don't see you talk much about politics. What are your political leanings?
>>76854967
>Last year and this year have been pretty fun on that board.
Fuck off. US election fucking ruined /pol/. It used to actually be a fun place where you could discuss politics a few years back but not it's just r/TheDonald. I hate Trump but those retards just call you an SJW and sage your thread to page 10 if you ever say something bad about him. That board got full of faggot underage teenagers when Trump was elected. Just look at all the cringe that "Kekistani" bullshit created. /pol/ was much better off when it was NatSoc and not alt-right pussies.
>>76854967
>I don't know how to play
Neither do I, you can make fun of me.
>>76854967
Splatoon's grand once you find a weapon that suits you. You have to learn how to keep moving too, it's a constant to take and keep ground so you have to be quick moving and inking. I wasn't observing you too much but I did notice you were making the rookie mistake of walking when you could be swimming. Swimming's much faster, refills your ink faster and makes it harder for enemies to see you.
>>76855035
>It seemed like the game never wanted to stick you on our team for some reason.

>How many of you are regulars here?
I first started visiting /éire/ about 2 years ago now, but I only began coming here regularly a few months after I moved to France. I'm here pretty much every day now, for better or for worse.
I do agree that there is a sense of community here not found in many of the other generals though. Probably because of our small numbers.
>>76855094
Flags ruined /pol/, well, ruined it more. Too many yanks that think they know how to banter just by copy pasting some basic insult like leaf or potatonigger any time they see a foreign flag.
That last thread had a fierce stench of normalfaggotry towards the end, lads. Glad I missed it.
>>76855200

>>76855292
>not playing with the lid of a pen and constantly dropping it on the floor
>>76855248
I've noticed that a bit in /bant/ threads. People from any random country drop in to deliver a memed insult towards your country and then quietly leave when they're ignored.
>>76855198

/bant/ was supposed to be for /pol/ runoff rather than /int/ and /pol/ has a much larger percentage of Americans than /int/. As well as having the bantering ability of the average American they're also less exposed to posters from different countries which causes them to think they're clever with their stock insults.

I use the Aerospray which IIRC is the fastest firing weapon. Though it doesn't reach far and its damage is low so it's better for spreading ink than killing. The regular Splattershot is a good mix of speed and damage if you want to try that.

>Sweden to hold 'man-free' music festival
The Swedish national psyche is something beyond my comprehension.
Anybody watched or know anything about Tsuki ga Kirei? Seems like it was one of the best reviewed from the last season
>>76866294
I guess it's similar to women only trains in Japan due to the notorious groping issue on commutes. They say it's after a string of sexual assaults in music festivals in Sweden so I suppose it can be justified on grounds of security.
>>76866404
While I get where you're coming from, restricting one gender from attending a public event doesn't sit well with me.
>>76866561
No, it's not really a solution to segregate. It was probably done to make a statement and shame all men for the acts of a small number.
>>76866294
Women only events is nothing new. It's hardly indicative of some man-hating ultra-feminist society, especially given the circumstances cited, you seem to purport is the "Swedish national psyche". A more pertinent concern would be the psyche of the Swedish male if they're so disposed to sex crimes.
>>76866758
>A more pertinent concern would be the psyche of the Swedish male if they're so disposed to sex crimes.
>>76866670
>and shame all men for the acts of a small number.
Which is a shitty idea. Shaming people for the misdeeds of people with the same genitalia is bullshit.
>this might take up to five minutes
>it's been ten and counting
Looking forward to my 8 hour shift so I am
>>76866828
>Which is a shitty idea.
I agree though unfortunately believing people of a similar race/religion/sex are culpable in the crimes of an individual is a common illness in society. People always like to look for grander reasons and common threads in an atrocity rather than accepting it as a bad person doing bad things.
>>76866670
>It was probably done to make a statement and shame all men for the acts of a small number.
I think you're assuming a lot there, based on what I don't know.
>>76867184
>I think you're assuming a lot there, based on what I don't know.
The organisers quote is "until all men have learned how to behave" which seems to be attaching a lot of blame to people who have done nothing wrong on the grounds of them being men.
Why are leftists so pro-drugs? Why do they think that they need these harmful crutches in life so badly?
>>76867374
Do you think people who enjoy alcohol occasionally are also using it as a 'crutch'?
>>76867415
Sort of, yes. And I say that as somebody who occasionally drinks.
>>76867232
They're organising a separate event to ensure people's safety, the statement is obviously hyperbolic but the original event wasn't cancelled because of all men and this other event obviously wasn't organised to shame men.
>>76867449
A crutch how?
>>76867462
Either a social crutch or a crutch to achieve an altered state of mind/being (i.e. drunk).
>>76867454
>They're organising a separate event to ensure people's safety
So the only way to keep women safe in Sweden is to not allow any men anywhere near them?
>>76867374
I don't use drugs but would favour legalisation of cannabis, not for my benefit but because I believe in the right to choose and appreciate the safety and tax benefits from regulating the product rather than having it run through criminals.
>>76867487
>Either a social crutch
Not everybody who drinks uses alcohol to this effect. Some people just enjoy certain alcohols, the same way some people enjoy certain drugs.
>crutch to achieve an altered state of mind/being (i.e. drunk)
This doesn't make any sense. It's like saying food is a crutch to achieve a state of fullness
>>76867518
That's what the evidence suggests in the interest of safety at a 4 day 50,000+ public event. Do you want to suggest anymore leading strawmans?
>>76867454
I think there are far better solutions than what they've done, an area of the campsite for women only for example would serve the same purpose for any women with security concerns and while avoiding having to exclude all men.
I give up. I can't get PS3 controllers to work on computer and I'm not wasting any more time trying.
>>76867541
I fully understand and more or less support that argument. But the problem I have with pro-drugs leftists is that they are often very disingenuous about their reasons for supporting drug legalisation. They claim they want to shut down the criminal gangs, but most don't really care about that aspect and just want to get high.
>>76867589
>the same way some people enjoy certain drugs.
But unlike alcohol, most drugs don't have a "taste" or an enjoyable aspect other than the effect they produce.
>This doesn't make any sense. It's like saying food is a crutch to achieve a state of fullness
You need to eat to survive.
>>76867680
Just use an Xbox 360 controller like everyone else ye bender. You can buy them for like 15 quid
>>76867694
>quid
>>76867629
>That's what the evidence suggests in the interest of safety at a 4 day 50,000+ public event
Not sure if you're being serious desu. Are you really suggesting that the ONLY workable solution to sexual assault at music events is to ban all men? What planet are you living on?
>>76867680
I have a spare one, I'll leave it in a field and post the gps coordinates
>>76867675
I mainly agree.
>>76867747
No, I'm saying they did at this particular one and I'd trust their evaluation of their ability to do so over yours.
>>76867691
>But unlike alcohol, most drugs don't have a "taste" or an enjoyable aspect other than the effect they produce.
And there's nothing wrong with that unless it's interfering with your day to day functioning, affecting people around you or putting you in debt.
>You need to eat to survive.
That's not the point of what I was saying. The use of the word crutch in that scenario doesn't make sense. Consuming a certain amount of alcohol is the only way to become intoxicated on it. 'Crutch' implies some kind of inappropriate or temporary solution to achieving an end result. How can alcohol be considered a crutch to the end result of being drunk if the only way to get drunk is to consume alcohol?
>>76867808
>No, I'm saying they did at this particular one and I'd trust their evaluation of their ability to do so over yours.
Well I'm sorry if I don't agree that tarring all men with the same brush based on the actions of a few is a reasonable response. That would be highly sexist.
>>76867886
>How can alcohol be considered a crutch to the end result of being drunk if the only way to get drunk is to consume alcohol?
Well I suppose that depends on whether you view drunkenness in a positive or negative light.
>>76867935
Not really. Whether you're a good drunk or a bad drunk is irrelevant; the act of consuming alcohol to get to that state in the first place isn't a 'crutch' when it's the only way to do it.
>>76868003
>the act of consuming alcohol to get to that state in the first place isn't a 'crutch' when it's the only way to do it.
But might the purpose of one's drunkenness not factor into alcohol's perception as a crutch? Whether it be a social crutch or a crutch to achieve an "enhanced" state of being? I think that's where my perception of it as a crutch stems from, I just got a bit sidetracked by your food analogy earlier.

Can't really compare them as there has been such a long gap, though I imagine all the current gen ones are all the same?
>>76871217
Their recent Pro controllers are much better. I'd even rather the WiiU tablet controller over the Gamecube one.
>>76871231
I still have three 360 controllers in storage, I used them for controller-based gaming on my PC until I bought the Xbone one, which is my primary. I prefer the DS4 for Tekken though
>>76871188
>€38
When did controllers get so expensive?
>buying from Gamestop
>ever
>>76871322
€38 is a decent price for the Steam controller from a bricks and mortar store. They go for more online with delivery thrown in on top. But I generally don't buy from Gamestop as a rule anyway
Awake.
>>76871308
I don't like the Wii U pro controllers stick placement of both left and right on top. The tablet controller is way too big and clumsy to be comfortable.
The GCN controller is nice and compact, has button sizes based on priority and nice clicky shoulder buttons.
>>76871322
It gets worse.

>>76871308
I'd have to agree with preferring the classic controllers to the Gamecube controller. Maybe it's because I didn't have a Gamecube growing up but I don't see why some consider it to be the be all end all of controllers. I blame Meleefags.
>>76871371
I meant when did controllers become almost as expensive as the games? Are they really that much more expensive to produce than the controllers 15 years ago?
>>76871441
>The tablet controller is way too big and clumsy to be comfortable.
I never had a problem with its size, maybe I've just grown used to it.
>€89.99
>the actual game is €64.99
>>76871500
touch pads, rumble, motion controls, nfc readers and such all drive up costs. Also the 3rd party controller market has virtually collapsed so there's less competition.
>>76871554
The pro controller is a waste anyways because the joypads are completely fine

Excellent, now I won't miss anything.

uneventful
>>76871916
Great news for the car market. I guess it shows foreign investors aren't too bothered about the UK leaving if they're willing to strike up deals at this time.
>>76871916
>EU & Japan sign free trade deal
Does that mean their products won't be so ridiculously overpriced?
>>76872082
It means many sectors won't have tariffs, but they can still charge inordinate amounts.

Was just scrolling through my games and this popped up in the three workshop mods that they show in the library.

Obviously to reclaim it for the Gaels.

Fair enough.
Take a few photos for us, and make sure you write "Tiocfaidh ár lá" somewhere, as is tradition.
>Before the 19th century the Highlands was home to a much larger population, but due to a combination of factors including the outlawing of the traditional Highland way of life following the Jacobite Rising of 1745, the infamous Highland Clearances, and mass migration to urban areas during the Industrial Revolution, the area is now one of the most sparsely populated in Europe.
Still makes me sad.

Italian was nice, and it was an excuse to holiday at lake garda every summer.
>>76876091
I preferred learning French to Irish because I felt I could ask questions about it more easily. I didn't learn a lot of grammar or whatnot because I feared asking the teacher about what is supposed to be my language would make me look stupid in front of the class.

haven't heard that in a while

I felt jealous of the dyslexic lads in college since they got free laptops. Most of them could read just fine too.
>>76876374
Would have heard in Rocket League last night if you were there.

That doesn't really happen on Steam Sales anymore.

Not too bad actually. I practiced against some easy AI's this morning and started to get a grip for the controls.
