Not a huge level, I'm just a bit on edge after the recent terrorism - both incidents were within a mile of where I live, and for the second one I was walking through Borough Market about 5 minutes before the attack happened. Chances of being involved are still minuscule I guess but hey. I don't think we've seen the last of Islamic terrorism in Europe yet either and there'll probably be multiple attacks next year too (particularly in Ramadan), but hopefully I'm wrong about that.

For other crime, I guess it's the same as any place really, as long as you keep your wits about you then you're generally safe. I live in the borough with the highest murder rate (Lambeth), but my area is safe and I don't feel worried walking around at all. I imagine that lots of urban areas in USA are far far worse desu.

Nah, like most people in London I'm not from here originally and don't know that many people. Yeah, it's not too bad really - our weapons laws get mocked by yanks quite a bit, but I do feel safer knowing that even if people start to get aggressive then they'll tend to be unarmed so the situation won't get too bad. Liége in Belgium.
Im originally from the Balkans so I have seen my fair share of shitholes but Liége is unforgivable.

The outskirts look like an Indian slum and its stacked with migrants from mena. The way they live there is basically South Africa tier slum.

You are literally not safe in the night in the center and your car is likely to get stolen.

The industry around makes me suicidally depressive.

The only thing about it remotely reputable is the train station, which tells you how bad it is (pic related).

I spent a night at gypsys village in Slovakia, in gypsys house.

All other hotels and hostels were taken already, so we had to sleep there.

It was surprisingly okay. Sure, there was only one bathroom in the whole house, so I had to share it with hosts, there were carpets everywhere, including the walls and out the window I saw the whole gypsy village, with view such as little gypo hidding stolen loot (a bottle of soda) from some yelling woman. Still, I didn't get robbed, mugged or anything. I lived to see another day.

And the interiors were clean. I expected bugs and shrooms, but there was nothing.
