Why dont you love dirty, loud and aggresive dog barking on the street a 3 am? Dog smeared in shit that will bite your hand off given smallest chance? I wonder why i can not bring myself to love this dog

Your country is great, I love the architecture in the cities and towns. I've only ever been to Rome, but I really liked it despite what people say about it.

The only bad memories I have from Italy are Torino and one night I slept in an ex-prison somewhere around Garda (all the other hotels were full). I'll probably move to Trieste as soon as I finish my uni here, although I still think that it would have been better if I moved there after high school.

I do though. Italy is by far my favourite country to visit in Europe, even though I'm anglo-french-dutch. Such a beautiful legacy of achievement and cultural creation, from the Roman ages to the Firenze renaissance and thereafter. Also, the country is affordable, the people are fairly friendly (to me at least), the food is both great tasting and filling, and it still feels distinctictively Italian unlike London/Paris/Geneva/etc which are just 'multicultural'. Even if a city has less to do from a tourist standpoint (ex. Milan, Bologna), I've always still enjoyed my time there. Also, the Italian region in Switzerland is by far the nicest as well.
