Mothers side is Irish and Scottish bounty women. Dads side is recent German immigrants that we only just found out about and first settlers on his mothers side. I can understand how i didnt get English from my dad and the recent German y gene but you would think some of it would get to me through my mother but none of it did

Yeah, if you're Dad's results came up with 9% Britain and your mother has Scottish ancestry, it seems unusual that you would come up with 0% Britain. Maybe it's coming up as Ireland or Europe West since they have overlap with Great Britain.

I was thinking in terms of the y chromosome I've gotten from my father there hasn't been much time for other DNA groups to take it over yet so that would explain why there is no English there. But my mothers family and the x chromosome should have had some and with the whole overlap thing the isles are there big focus so I would think they'd be pretty good at distinguishing them.
