you can but the entire point of the jacket is to display embroidered "letters" that you earn through performance in sports, winning contests, or having good academic performance that are unique to your school. You can wear one without the patches or make up fake patches to wear but people who go/went to your school will know its fake.

we dont. back in highschool I knew a guy who was expelled because he had a shotgun in the back of his truck locked up that he forgot to take out after hunting the night before and he even told the school himself. He was forced to drive an extra 30 minutes every morning to the nearest highschool for the remainder of his schooling.
