Here is a fun little fact for you fellows.
During 10th of November, exactly at 9.05 am(the hour atatürk passed away) the entire country stops for 3-4 minutes, all the cars stop, all the noise stops, all the radio/tv stops as the entire country rises to attention(the people in cars and busses get out if there is no room to stand up), the first minute is silence to honour him and then the national anthem is blasted from literally everything that can make a sound like tv's radio's government broadcasting majiggers (except for mosques lel) and everyone sings it.
Then people get into the their cars and we act like nothing has happened.
Its quite hard to find videos of this happening, since everyone is busy singing the anthem and it would be incredibly rude to take a video while its happening.

the russians facked our asses mostly because getting troops and equipment to the east was almost impossible.
I read somewhere that getting a single shipment from istanbul to erzurum took atleast 3 weeks to reach.Also the area was poorly equipped, the fort in erzurum (which was the only defensive building at the area) had literally NOTHING in its armory, no guns, no food, so the soldiers there literally just ran away handing the fort to the russians.
The single big offensive we tried against the russians, the army was so poorly equipped, that 3/4 of the army stationed at the east just died whilst marching to their destination.

You see, after the end of ww1, the turkish republic didnt signed any peace deal, so we had to keep fighting, during that time the greeks almost managed to reach ankara (the capital).
We were only capable of beating them because the silly italians left their guns whilst leaving anatolia so we just took em lel
