TOP KEK ANGLO PIG SHIT!!! Oh believe you me, us Russians are ITCHING for a war with UK. We will fucking ANNIHILATE your dirty country. There wouldn't be a square meter of British soil that has running water, electricity, or petrol that isn't on fire, once our airforce and navy is done bombarding your defenseless country. Then, our army boys (we'd send the chechens and other mongrel races first) would swoop in, raping your women, and killing EVERY British pig shit they see. When Russia's done with you, we will have committed acts of genocide. Of course no one is gonna do shit about it

That's why they have a lot of defensive measures against missiles and travel with a fleet and constantly have aircraft monitoring everything. The decks can also take a kamikaze type nuclear attack.

>In regards to the carrier project, experts have stated "it's not feasible, neither from a technical nor from a financial point of view" and that "the Russian military doesn't want it." They noted that the Russian Navy has difficulties replacing Project 1155 and 956 destroyers for its fleet and that any plans regarding carriers are unrealistic. They also asserted that as an Eurasian land power, Russia's carriers had limited military value beyond being symbols of national prestige. On the other hand, they have not ruled out Russia considering a replacement for the Admiral Kuznetsov but not for years or decades to come.[4]

>AShM spam
To make an ASM spam, you must be able to bring your vector. Either by sea (so you need naval superiority), or air/land (I count them in the same category because it need to be close from land (airbase).

Then, if the carrier group is send in the killzone near your coast, you still need to either defeat their air superiority or wait for them to come close.

I'll suppose that most of the time, a carrier air-group will have superiority, but let's suppose that they are complete retard or come close enough to get hit by land based ASM.

Then it need to defeat all defensive dispositive of an carrier group which is roughly build to defeat submarine and ASM spam.

To spam effectively, you need to bring either several land based ASM (which is hard because most country don't have much of them and they need to be set along the coast as a defensive measure (which mean the Carrier group can move faster than the land based ASM relocate).

The last chance is for the attacker to have complete air superiority to bring enough naval bomber to spam and defeat the Carrier group defense. Which is hard.

Which mean that to loose a carrier group, you need an absolute retard, making every bad decision possible. At this point it would be more effective for the fleet to scuttle their navy.

I don't say that detroying a carrier group can't be defeated. Just that most country don't have what it need to sink them, and most dispositive against them are defensive (which mean the attacking navy need to put itself in danger).

The ramp means an aircraft has to take off under its own power. The catapult means it is being assisted in being flung off so it doesn't need as high a weight to power ratio in order to take off.

You get to carry more and fly more with a catapult than a ramp.

>The Tu-22M suffered from widespread maintenance issues during its service with the Soviet forces. These stemmed from poor manufacturing quality. The engines and airframes in particular had low service lives.[21] The Air Force at one point sought to have Tupolev prosecuted for allegedly rushing the inadequate designs of the Tu-22M and the Tu-160 into service.[22] This was compounded by the government bureaucracy, which hampered the provision of spare parts to allow the servicing of the Tu-22M. With some aircraft grounded for up to six months, the mission-capable rate of the aircraft in August 1991 hovered around 30–40%.[21][23]
