Most foreign-derived words in English are inkhorn terms intentionally used by writers to sound more cultured when English was still being standardised, even back then there was controversy over their use. That and the fact that the English vocabulary is enormous and contains hundreds of thousands of words no one will ever use makes it senseless to draw conclusions about the nature of the language from where most of its words come from. The basic grammar hasn't changed in close to a thousand years since it dropped its case system.
