Can you call someone at any time and be like "Hey what's up, can I come over to your house" in your country? How would they feel about it?
>call someone
No, you just show up.

based greece
People here expect at least a weeks notice prior to a visit. Showing up uninvited is considered very rude and imposing as well, even if you are good friends.

fuck, that must suck
would you personally find it rude if someone visited your house without invitation?
>>76491952
Yes. It shows you don't care about what the other person may be up to that you're interrupting.
>>76491952
Definitely yes. I need to be prepared before someone shows up
>>76491952
yes
I live in the middle of the US in a small-medium town.
as long as im white, most people here would take me in and cook me dinner.
i'd would need a reason to be at their house though. like if i was homeless.

Why would you just barge into my house, Argentina?
>>76491020
This. Us Salvadorans do this all the time. I love it.
>>76491952
Yes, formality is how our culture functions
>US
MUST be invited over
>Israel
Just walk in and everyone has a great time
The US has such a disingenuous sense of community. It's not like in Europe where at least over there they don't even pretend to care about other people.

would you be cool with it if I brought churros with dulce de leche??
>>76490696
they would suspect you want to ask for some favor or money and get an anxious tight feeling in their stomach.
>>76491952
Really depends on the person but I'd rather the person be invited over
nobody has ever done this to me since I have no friends so I have no idea if this is commonplace or not
it feels like an overly aggressive and rude thing to do though, personally

Are Israelis really that affectionate?
>>76494969
Not really. It's common between good friends or family relatives. My mother used to keep the house tidy and at least presentable in case a friend or one of her siblings appeared out of nowhere. It didn't happen often, but it wasn't uncommon.
And I have the impression that it's even more common among lower class people.
