Being able to disable (remember, unlike R*ssians tanks a cook off in an M1 isn't necessarily fatal to the crew) a lone, unsupported tank, probably crewed with inexperienced Iraqis doesn't mean diddly squat.

Real life isn't some fucking game where a lone tank racks up hundreds of kills (although, theoretically it's possible). Tanks are designed to support and be supported.

Actually the tank crew fatality for American tanks during WW2 was quite low. Definitely better than being an infantryman. The idea that they were death traps is a myth which sprung up due to fear of German Tigers and Panthers.

That's what I meant by tank destroyer doctrine. Everyone compares German tanks meant to combat other tanks to infantry tanks, the actual vehicles the US used to combat other vehicles were things like the M36 Jackson or the Hellcat and artillery pieces, but they were still used for infantry as well. It's like comparing the T-34 to a Jagdtiger instead of comparing a Jagdtiger and Tiger 2 to a JS-2 or a SU-100.
