Online. There's thomann.de that ships worldwide and has some from Contemporânea, one of the big names in Brazilian percussion. There are a few from other companies on Amazon, Remo apparently is making one with a synthetic head that has the same timbre as the natural head that I'd really like to try. Typically, the synthetic head ones (what I have) are tuned higher and have a sound that's a little more in-your-face, while the natural head ones are tuned lower and tend to sound more subdued.

The biggest difference between the two is actually the 'tarraxas', the tuning brackets. The Contemporânea one is 'tarraxa dupla' (double bracket), which lets you really fine-tune it and improves the evenness of the tension around the head, giving it a better feel and not requiring retuning as frequently.

Facts about the hardware aside, I don't really trust LP over Contemporânea to make a good pandeiro. Brazilian percussion has never been their specialty, and it shows in the lack of options you have (10/12 inch diameter and that's it, versus the different choices of frame material and head Contemporânea also offers, not all of which are even available on Thomann's site). The line feels like an afterthought, basically, and I don't want to buy an afterthought.

That one on Amazon does look pretty good. The doubled tuners ain't as important on the ones with natural skin heads AFAIK (because those heads aren't typically put under as much tension) but since you're going for a synthetic one like I did, I recommend getting one with the doubled tuners.

Contemporânea actually also makes this sleek looking motherfucker http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-699411908-pandeiro-contemporanea-profissional-31ppc-pele-preta-_JM with doubled tuners, but I can't find that one for sale outside of Brazil, you'd probably have to contact a shop directly and work out the shipping arrangements with them if you wanted to get it. The shiny flag head model is the only one that has it on Thomann from what I can tell.
