Why are women so superstitious?

They have similar intellectual capacity to men, yet when it comes to "logic" they are a bit retarded.

>that the position of stars and planets can affect people's lives
You better fucking believe it mr. quiz man, when a planet slingshots an asteroid at you
>>
women are so fucking dumb
>>
>That extraterrestrial beings have visited Earth at some time in the past

Seeing as how earth is billions of years old, and that there are billions of stars in our galaxy, that belief isn't too far fetched.
>>
>>76381315
any study on the brain differences between men and women show male brain is much better at logic than women
>>
The smartest people ive met have been women.
They are also the dumbest.

There's more Stacys than there are chads for men.
>>
>>76380676
dumb women believe in astrology but not in aliens
ghosts do exist tho
>>
>>76381495
That's what I said. So technically since women are better to remember some details in order to have a good gossip, they IQ levels chart same as men.
>>
>>76381519
>The smartest people ive met have been women.
>They are also the dumbest.
Very strange, this is against all the researches. Women tend to be closer to middle ground not at extreme sides. In 23 years of my life I've have met only a handful of intelligent women, and they had that kind of "goddess" complex as they were aware of their intelligence.
>>
>>76381467
ikr, out of all those paranormal scenarios, the existance of aliens is the most realistic
>>
I love how more men believe in extraterrestrials but more women believe in all the other bullshit more.

Yeah, back in high school and middle school, most people with good grades were girls, but the top ranked students were boys. Of course, the retards were also boys

I've had ghost experiences like a mysterious woman screaming from downstairs and light switches flipping themselves on and off

Unironically believe in ghosts

>>76382422
Better go get a mental check up then, these are all signs of shcizo
>>
>>76382440
I wasn't the only one who has heard the screams. But maybe they came from an intruder idk
>>
>>76382422
There are medical explanations for your experience.
>>
>>76382471
unlike ghosts, gypsies and immigrants are real, and have been known to break into homes and cause havoc.
>>
>>76382471
bring up the screams with the person who heard them last time and see if they actually remember the incident
people with mental issues often 'remember' other people noticing the same things happening that they do when its all in their head
>>
>>76382478
>>76382440
>People are this conceited
>>
>>76382496
I actually broke into the house but it was abandoned and there was nobody there besides me and some mates. We went downstairs to where the scream came from but couldn't find anyone
>>
>>76382556
ghosts don't real
>>
>>76382521
We all went downstairs to investigate, I remember it correctly. The only entrance to the house was a tiny hole and I don't think a person would be able to get away that fast. Maybe she was hiding in a closet or something
>>
>>76380676
>all women believe with greater frequency in literaly supernatural garbage
>the only thing that is physically possible, muh aliens, they believe with less frequency
This explains so much about current politics and culture.
>>
>>76380676
>The only thing women are less credulous about is the only one that's actually physically possible
>>
>>76382129
Well that's the only one that's actually possible, so it's the most logical option there.
>>

Sure that's not just your mom upset at you?
>>
holy fuck... whomever believes this shit is actually retarded. only thing remotely plausible on that list is aliens, but they've probably never been here.
>>76382612
I had something similar happen to me. you know what it turned out to be? a fucking possum got into the attic and was chewing on the electrical wiring. when it finally electrocuted itself it started making a shreiking noise.
>ghost don't real
>>
>>76381467
it's still super, super far fetched if you know anything about space travel and the odds of such a thing happening but it's not supernaturally far fetched like the others
>>
>hurr durr ghosts aren't real
>So why don't you go to this extremely supposedly haunted location then and stay there for awhile?
>What? no one way m-man I got w-w-work that day

The rare earth hypothesis makes no fucking sense, though.
The only way for extraterrestrial lifeforms to not exist is for life to be impossible, and earth clearly proves it's possible.
A non-zero chance, given a big enough scale in time or space ( and the universe being big or old is an understatement ), is practically garranteed to happen.

The question didn't specify a point in time that aliens visited, only "Earth at some time in the past".

That could be billions of years ago or yesterday.

Sure, the survivorship bias is at play, but considering life on Earth started AS SOON AS IT WAS POSSIBLE, it's kinda a red herring about the probability of abiogenesis.

we are dealing with huge time spans, statistically we are either the first intelligent lifeforms in the galaxy or another intelligent species has already spread throughout the entire galaxy as it would only takes a few ten thousand years
>>
How much time did complex life have to evolve and visit earth?

The universe is about 13.6 billion years old, to reach metallicity comparable to the solar system would be seven billion of that. Then the rocky planets would need to form and not get fucked by other planets or gas giants. For intelligent life to develop, not kill itself and survive travelling between their home system and ours.

What if humans really are one of the first intelligent lifeforms to exist? hell we've only had records for a few thousand years, and the cambrian was only 500 million years ago.

the oldest known bacteria live around vents that literally spew hydrocarbons into the ocean... you have the elemental building blocks of life, plus a little bit of luck and you have proteins. proteins form into single celled organisms.
Do you have any idea how much energy is needed to push 1 kg to the speed of light? how about faster than it? Even when moving at the speed of light it takes 4 years to get to our nearest star.
and..... just dont get me started on all the other obstacles...
Now unless we're talking about some mythical atlantean fucks that built a giant floating city and then decided they must away later, what conceivable reason would any civilization have to come here, to a giant ball of saline and rock, and make a few bacteria, then leave?
Canada come on. what the fuck man? use your head, thats easily the least likely scenario, and in all that time don't you think they'd say hi after some several hundred thousand years?

assuming there is no faster than light travel the most efficient way to explore the galaxy is self replicating robots, they travel to a star system, and build a few copies of themself that go on to other star systems
depending on how the species that invent these set it up its entirely possible the robots come to our galaxy, send a few more on their way and leave a bunch here just observing and sending the data (which only travels the speed of light) to their creators
the milky way is 100,000 light years across, splitting the distance at 50,000 light years they won't be hearing of us finally getting around to building civilisations for 30,000 years and how long would it take for them to get here without faster than light travel?

It is actually the sheer size of our universe which makes the whole aliens visiting Earth idea even less credible. The odds of another species capable of intergalactic travel, which requires thousands of years of transit for even the closer systems, and managing to locate the planet and make contact in a way which isn't extremely obvious is downright silly.

Do you really think that something travelling for thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions, etc. years and coming into contact with Earth would be a randomly relatively tiny object that is almost impossible to keep track of and seemingly disappears as soon as it is noticed?

Fucking come on, man.

>>76383306
>as it would only takes a few ten thousand years
It would take a lot longer than that. The Milky Way galaxy has between 100 and 400 million stars, with a diameter of between 150k~180k light years. It's also 1000 light years thick. Harnessing the required energy to expand that far would take millions of years even for a type II civilisation.

People really do not begin to comprehend the sheer scale of the universe. Fair enough, though.
