No, in fact Spaniards from Gibraltar fled the city and founded La Línea on the other side of the border. Spain ceded Gibraltar to Britain with some conditions, one of which was that no Muslims or Jews were allowed in the city. In true Anglo fashion, the first thing you did was populate Gibraltar with Muslims and Jews.
