Why is the US thought of as being a British colony as whole, when our territory consists of land taken from Spain, Russia, France, and Mexico; as well as three formerly independent nations which joined us?

The oldest city in the US was founded in Florida in the 16th century by the Spanish and while Jamestown was first being settled in Virginia you could go to Santa Fe, New Mexico and eat at a restaurant and stay the night in a hotel.

because there is not much left from those other countries besides Mexico and those French people that live in New Orleans and most of your political and government tradition is anglo

USA is an Anglo-Saxon country built and led by Anglo-Saxons. If you don't like it you can go back to your parents' homeland.
