And we're living in the most peaceful period of mankind...

Transylvania's border with Romania is not secured, I don't feel safe at all knowing that regățeni can just come here whenever they want
Most of these countries simply lack the potential of doing great harm. Syrians are killing each other for over 6 years now and half of the country is still inhabitable. Same in Africa. Their wars are not exactly WW2-intense.

what conflicts are in those euro countries?
directed violence is more appropriate
just look at the lose of life for afghanistan and iraq, no time in their history have so many of their people died, far surpassing the mongol conquest
only because major violence is directed towards specific locations does not mean peaceful for them
to talk about humanity without talking about specific instances is pointless
we are also living in the era of greatest number of humans etc etc, cliche for dogs
Regional conflicts or terrorism/drug wars don't fucking count as wars.
Under U.S. leadership we have prevented any major wars from breaking out for over 70 years. Excluding a few Civil wars/border conflicts, that were unpreventable.

Also for Iraq, Bosnia, Serbia, Vietnam, and Korea. Those were extremely small scale compared to wars during other periods in human history.
Basically what i'm saying is that not all wars have been prevented, but major wars have been.

Nigger this is an eddited version of this map https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ongoing_conflicts_around_the_world_in_2016.svg
Why would you spread lies on the internet there's no armed conlicts in France, Germany, Sweden or in the UK. Terrorism doesn't count.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'small scale'
considering population differences, obviously no earlier wars can compare to something like WW2
but smaller populations aside, wars of almost complete annihilation weren't unknown to put it very mildly even in prehistory - War Before Civilization is a worthwhile read
