>tfw there are states in india the size of a small european country (bihar for example is over 3 times smaller than germany) that have over 100 million inhabitants
>tfw the vast majority of people in these states don't even live in urban areas
I wonder how these people live. Do they all just live in villages? There must be a fuckton of villages there then, why don't they just unite to form cities?
Also, where to their get their food from?
These population numbers are unreal to be honest

What bs, man. Only Brahmins are vegetarians. And that's like 10 percent of the national population. Among educated upper class populations, a greater portion of people are Brahmins, so the Indians who immigrate to Western countries often tend to be vegetarian.

Fish is cheap and abundant. Most non-Brahmin Indians eat only chicken and fish on a regular basis. Muslims eat mutton quite a lot. Pork is rare among Hindus, popular only among certain communities like Kodavas. Beef is very very rare. The only people who eat beef are Muslims and Christians in Kerala, and Christians in northeastern states. Then again it's not actually cow meat. It's a different species called mithun. Maybe that together makes only one or two percent of the country.
