Georgia as a country seems great.
Has its own distinctive culture; wine, amazing food (some of which I had today).
Remarkable history too.

What sort of upsets me is their extreme Russophobio which has its axioms in three events.

Russia went in on behalf of the people there who were discriminated, with UN support. It stopped until tie-eater shelled Ossetians in retaliation for a shootout between paramilitaries and govt. officials.

I'm sure Georgia would have been swarmed up by either Persia or Ottomans if it weren't for Russia. Yes, there are some impressive battles from those times when Georgians won, but Georgia did request help as time went on, and so, they got absorbed by the lesser evil.

This affected not just Georgians. Some people draw a juxtaposition between Nazism and Communism, and simply put, everyone got fucked by Commies in the USSR; whereas in the Reich only some, specifically people. In the USSR anyone deemed "an enemy to the state" would receive hash punishments, regardless of their ethnicity in most cases. Georgian-born Stalin killed a lot of Georgians.
