Actually, I'm just going to interject here, this is what I like to call Norse architecture, or Scandinavian, it was present throughout much if not the lionshare of the nations of norway, denmark, and surely even sweden during the common germanic, or migration period.
it is of sound design, with the crossbeams featuring animal figures forming the main points where weight is distributed along the frame, the sharp slope ensure the heavy snows do not crush or damage the roof, as well as providing an impermeable barrier between the occupants and any wet precipitation outside the winter months
a structure very similar to this is indeed assembled aboard ships of this period to serve as a simple but effective tent that protected the crew in inclement weather, and on making landfall
