if you're looking to rent an apartment in the netherlands, it's not rare to find properties which not only have no furniture or light fixtures (which is normal), but also no floor. So instead of having tiles/parquet/moquette/vinyl you just have a dirty concrete slab and it's up to you to cover it up, adding costs on top of rent and deposits.

When i was in Delft, i ended up paying an extra ~800€ to cover a 3 bedroom apartment with some shitty vinyl, and when we paid the dude who laid it down he took the money (we could only pay through cash, hmmmm) and never gave it to the shop he worked for, where we bought the material. They ended up calling us asking if we paid, and luckily we had the receipt because if we didn't they could have taken us to a civil court, or just straight up taken the TV, fridge, etc from the house until we paid (again). Flanders is very introvert and still kinda conservative. The people are more right wing and polite and reserved yet have a lavish, catholic lifestyle and good cuisine.

Flanders has been ruled by foreigners for ages so the people also have a hostile mentality towards the government

Wallonia and Brussels are cancer and should be nuked desu.
