Is the state culturally southern or borderline north/south/midwest?

There's nothing super special about Missouri. The Ferguson chimpout happened there. According to The Simpsons, Branson is like Vegas if it were run by Ned Flanders. Bass Pro Shop originated in Springfield. There isn't much to do there besides get drunk and fish for trout. Kansas City Chiefs and St Louis Blues are the only sports teams worth mentioning.
