>fucked up a job interview
>got the job
The interviewer said "ok, sell me this book" and I said "uh, I don't really know how to sell things" and I got hired. Wtf is the point of job interviews?

what was the job?

Assistant to a hotshot Maryland lawyer with a lot of international clients, the idea was that I was supposed to draw in clients. Pay wasn't amazing (like $14 per hour), but considering I hadn't even graduated college yet it was pretty cool. I think the fact that I could speak both English and Spanish with a flawless accent definitely helped.

Something similar happened to me. I was supposed to solve a problem in the job interview. I did it wrong, but I told them that the answer was wrong and got the job
You can get help and training for job interviews. When I was unemployed the government welfare agency payed for a job seeker course that gave me some protips and I felt that it helped me get a job.
