>It's confusing and you have to move stuff around to differentiate between definite and indefinite stuff
Are you autistic? Just say "this" or "that", or use context.
>There's also >|<
It's voiced Ш. You would complain about French ch/j as well.

Bother not with that shite, just pronounce them as the sound they originally repræsent.
also: Щ = šč
>this triggers the Moskal'

useless, russia will be irrelvant in a decade or two
equivalent to learn esperanto or portugese
t. volga german
Our orthography is VERY HARD and they only one way to fix it - the big language reform, but nobody will do it.
Also Belarusian is very close to Russian, but has easier orthography, phonetical. And even has a latin alphabet. But still fucking underrated.

>German saying Russia will be an irrelevant language
Ironic.
>>76063019
>Though there is the verb "to have" (имeть) in Russian, it is rarely used to designate possession. Instead, Russian uses the preposition y (at) followed by the genitive, plus the word ecть (is/are), plus the possessed object at the nominative.
I agree, that sucks, but I think you misunderstood it.
Russians, why don't you simply use "имeть"?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shcha
«Shcha (Щ щ; italics: Щ щ) is a letter of the Cyrillic script. In Russian, it represents the voiceless alveolo-palatal fricative /ɕ(ː)/, like the pronunciation of ⟨sh⟩ in sheep (but longer). In Ukrainian and Rusyn, it represents the consonant cluster /ʃt͡ʃ/. In Bulgarian, it represents the consonant cluster /ʃt/. In Kurdish, it represents the consonant /d͡ʒ/.
In English, Shcha is romanized as ⟨shch⟩ or ⟨šč⟩ (with hačeks), both reflecting the historical Russian pronunciation of the letter. That can lead to some confusion, as the ⟨ch⟩ in the transcription may seem to indicate that Щ is a combination of Ш and a strong Ч, which is true in Ukrainian but not Russian, where this sound always more softened. The letter Щ in Russian and Ukrainian corresponds to ШЧ in related words in Belarusian.»

we pronounce it like standart polish ś

To make any language easier, stop asking why.
Seriously. Stop asking why things work how they do. Language isn't logical, it's a set of patterns that follow each other to make a communication tool.
IT doesn't have to be logical. Stop asking why, just accept that that's how it is, and learn it regardless if it makes sense or not. Eventually things will click with enough exposure.
