It goes much deeper down the rabbit hole than that and this isn't simply Democrats having a tantrum over a lost election. This was all a carefully-constructed ploy set up by Obama to prevent Trump from ever sitting down with Putin to work out a negotiated peace in Syria, since any time Trump does...any diplomatic interaction with Moscow at all, Democrats will just go "Oh look he's a Russian spy we wuz right all along!" because Trump being able to resolve the Syria situation would completely embarrass Obama and make his entire foreign policy record look like the disaster it was.
