Most autistic gun ever
>>75805397
we really wanted to use the M1 Garand as the sniper (for parts interchangeability) but we couldn't get the tolerances close enough for good accuracy without changing part specifications so much as to make it a useless action, so we just used the 1903 (we used some sniper garands too). Mauser actions are naturally accurate anyways (and we had a fuck ton of them lying around since they were standard issue rifles for the marines)

Why was m14 such a failure?
Holy shit almost all Russian guns are autistic af

5.2 Kg that you have to lug around, plus ammo. The full auto capability was a joke, they were long as hell and impossible to use indoors/jungles

Didn't the bolt often fly out backwards into the users face?
God, I want one, but they cost €5000...
I need my .308 fix and authentic FALs are hard to come by, even here.
>>75805692
Yeah I think there was some design flaw where you could put it back together improperly after cleaning it and load and fire it without the bolt being locked. It was also too difficult to mass manufacture or something.
It was only used after it was replaced by the enfield for sniping because it was very accurate.

I love how they singled this out as "inhumane" while everyone and their mothers were deploying chemical weapons.

Chemical weapons actually have a worse reputation than they deserve. The chemical weapons of WW1 for the most part - and this is backed by statistical data - left people incapacitated. And people could recover from it reasonably well without permanent bodily harm. Conventional artillery was far more deadly and left people permanently maimed and disfigured. It was also responsible for most of the deaths. Personally, I'd rather be temporarily blinded and coughing up blood than having my face and limbs ripped to shreds.
The trench guns were deemed inhumane because they weren't all that good at killing people but left to suffer with wounds that were hard to be taken care of under trench-warfare conditions. To which extent this was true is questionable though, maybe they have a worse reputation than they deserve, just like gas warfare.
The German saw-tooth bayonets were regarded inhumane for similar reasons, with Allied troops threatening to kill every man carrying one.
we INVENTED the G3
>Due to the Heckler & Koch G3 being based on the CETME B, they share a very similar look.

well done spain it's a very nice rifle
especially the one you posted with the wooden parts
wish I owned 1.
>>75807177
>>75807808
it looks very similar to the FAL aswell. i think part of the design team for CETME in Spain were the same people in charge of Stg 44 previously for nazi germany
it was replaced with the german HK G36E in 1999, but i think they still allow people to keep their CETME
