>>75791999
I swear on my honour that it is a real thing,in our school all the boys from one class get sent to an ampty classroom once a year where there's a doctor and some nurses and he just does a thorough check of your body and as finish he firmly grabs your balls and checks for lumps and stuff like that, that's why at first I didn't get that it's a meme
>>75792123

>>75792123
Jesus. And are you naked for the entirety of this inspection? Also, what primary school child gets testicular cancer?
>>75792232
>>75792306
I have no problem with being naked in front of other men in the locker rooms, showers and stuff,so it was no problem for me that time around either,it was just more the "man grabbing and pulling your testicles" part that was very uncomfortable
And it was in secondary school
>>75792375
>And it was in secondary school
That would have made it more awkward considering puberty and everything. Is this an annual thing for the duration of secondary school or a once off? Also, are the nurses male or female?
me
>>75792462
We always had the old doctor(who happened to be the same one I've been consulting all my life so he already knew me) and two female nurses taking notes and stuff,I believe one of the two was an aspiring doctor or something just helping out.
We had to do it every year but I know that some schools only do it every second one,the girls also had to get checked for breast cancer
There's really nothing to it,airport TSA can also see your dick with their scanners
>>75792680
>There's really nothing to it,airport TSA can also see your dick with their scanners
Well I can assure you that such a procedure would never be approved in Ireland. The opposition from parents and students would be monumental.
Also, female nurses in the same room with naked teenage boys? Does that not raise any eyebrows at all?
>>75792861

>>75792913
>>75792861
>Also, female nurses in the same room with naked teenage boys
Well there is this weird attitude here in the country that states "the doctor is God,everything the doctor says has to be followed"and as a 16 year old you would've been happy if you saw two women looking at your penis and taking notes
But I've heard that in other countries seeing eachother naked (even guyfriends) is quite uncommon,is that true?
>>75793093
>and as a 16 year old you would've been happy if you saw two women looking at your penis and taking notes
I wouldn't. Just seems like it would be massively awkward.
>But I've heard that in other countries seeing eachother naked (even guyfriends) is quite uncommon,is that true?
Definitely not in Ireland anyway, unless you're on a sports team I guess.
>>75791724

>>75793711
>Well the "being naked among others" part did give you a normal bodyimage on your netherregions
Did you go into the room one by one or the whole class together? Maybe an obvious question, but this is a learning experience for me.
>>75793782
Usually one would enter get the normal check done and while you were doing the eye test and later the old penis fondler someone else would also enter and would start getting checked through by one of the nurses, the doctor pratically only did the grabbing part,I do remember that one year we were three people in the room at the same time
Hope there isn't some kind of fetish developping in your head
Not in the mood to cause a fuss tonight lads.
>>75793952

>>75793952
>Hope there isn't some kind of fetish developping in your head
No. Even you just describing this to me is making me quite uncomfortable. It's completely alien to me. The idea of being naked in the same room as one or more of my classmates in secondary school is just doesn't bare thinking about.

Not an excuse for making an incredibly piss poor tactical decision. You're a frozen hellhole as well, you should've known it was a bad idea.
>We did not have the refrences that Napoleon and Hitler did.
Napoleon only failed because of the massive scorched earth policy and Hitler got bogged down helping Mussolini's failures in the Balkans.
>>75812151
>massive scorched earth policy
And I wonder what the Russians did to us exactly?
>Peter I withdrew from Poland in the spring of 1706,[12]:700 and offered to surrender all of his Baltic possessions to Sweden except St. Petersburg, but Charles refused.[12]:703 Peter subsequently adopted a scorched-earth policy in order to deprive the Swedish forces of supplies.
>In need of resupply, Charles moved towards Baturyn, Mazepa's headquarters, but Russian troops under Aleksandr Menshikov reached the city first. Anticipating the Swedish arrival, Menshikov ordered the merciless massacre of the population, razing the city and destroying or looting arms, ammunition and food.
Napoleon had seen it happen to us, we didn't have that information beforehand.

>>75812577
But what more could he want? Wouldn't it be better to take the Baltics for free rather than wasting troops and resources on more fighting? How much of Russia was he planning to take?
>>75812577
>>75812467
Also the peace offer wasn't very good, considering Peters ''baltic possessions'' were Swedish land he had siezed at the start of the war.
>>75812652
As I said. The great nothern war started because Peter WANTED Swedish land in the baltic which he took while the Swedes were fighting the Danes and the Poles.
Then Sweden took it back and he offered to ''surrender'' our own land back to us in a shitty Status quo ante bellum.
The Swedish army had been completely unbeatable - the only mistake that Carolux Rex did was that he didn't follow the shattered army of the Russians after Narva, instead he went back to Poland to put a Swedish-friendly government in place.
>>75812652
As you can see, there were no ''Russian baltic possessions'' before the war.

A bunch of virgin NEET's discussing when the best time to have children is.
A virgin NEET dictating that if you have children beyond a certain age you're strange.

Once you've graduated with your masters, taken a year out to travel and found a job you're already about 25. Then you've got to move in with a partner, save up for the wedding and then begin the long task of saving up for a house since nobody wants to start a family into a rental.
>>75816043
Times change. The average age of new mothers now is 30. The average age for weddings is 32 bride and 34 groom.

Well last week people commented that it started raining and Met Eireann rain radars showed that it was just starting to rain over the west coast and limerick however the midlands, south and east was still dry and clear.
That map I linked is the latest lightening strikes in Ireland (thunder). The brighter yellow dots happened within the last 10 minutes.
The darker ones 30minutes to an hour ago.
It's pretty easy.

The way society has developed has seen young adults infantilised a lot more to the point where I'm not sure how many of them are capable of being independent and responsible adults at 18. I and most others there did much of my growing up during college and if nothing else I left it feeling like an adult when I definitely felt like a child when I begun.
Too many of those who don't go to college never really reach that maturity or understanding regarding responsibility and either wind up in anti-social behavior or becoming lifelong NEETs. Farmers or those involved in a family business being the exception since they already have a path set for them to follow and grow into.
>>75816636
What do you mean by "independent" and "responsible"? I don't believe young people these days are" infantalised". I think there just isn't enough incentives to break into the adult world. Everyone's fully capable, but unwilling.
I feel like most people these days are forced to go to work in service industries, and those of us who weren't intelligent enough to go into higher education get sidelined into shitty low paid jobs where being unemployed and on the dole is pretty much the preferable choice.
Probably just having a baseless rant here though. Projecting my own problems Maybe there's plenty of dignified work and I'm just too lazy to seek it out.
>>75816884
Capable of living by yourself, eating and living a healthy lifestyle, making sensible life decisions and responsibilities such as maintaining accommodation upkeep, waking up and getting to work on time every day while managing enough sleep. Managing money well etc
My point is I don't think I would have been able to do all that a week after the Leaving Cert or that most 18 year olds would.
absolutely drowned my southern fried chicken in vinegar again, lads
Why is it only young men that are completely incapable of maturing and looking after themselves?
>>75816636
I'd say the opposite really. While there are exceptions to both sides, I find people that never went to college are the kind that go straight into working. While this work is often menial shit like blocklaying it's still work and hard work at that.
Meanwhile college tends to continue infantalising its students. Most adults in college, despite living on their own, are not responsible in the slightest. You know the kind that comes home every weekend with a big basket of laundry for mammy to do. The kind that spends their grant money on drink and drugs. The kind that skips class to spend a day watching films in a fort they and their roommates made in the sitting room. A lot of them don't bother getting jobs until they're finished altogether, even Summer work. The only remotely mature college students I've met were the mature students in their 40's.
Though yes I acknowledge there are exceptions to these. There are people that do absolutely nothing after finishing the leaving and there are college students that become self-sufficient adults. Nevertheless I think by and most students these days leave college being just as, if not more, childish than when they entered.
>>75817182
>implying women ever become mature

Women go from relying on their father to relying on their boyfriend/husband. Most women are about as resourceful as a child.

>>75816884
>get sidelined into shitty low paid jobs where being unemployed and on the dole is pretty much the preferable choice
This. The biggest problem with working nowadays is you can make more money on the dole and keep your free time. Only a fool would take orders at McDonalds instead of filling out some forms.
>>75817182
Girls are better taught to be responsible and look after themselves. Doing home economics in school and cooking at home while lads are making a bird house and snacking on micro chips.
>>75816636
I witness the opposite on a daily basis. People who attend college show a completely and utterly clueless view of the world. The naivety and overall infant behaviour shows in various degrees.
I'm a working class person, just to point out my POV. Learning how to boil pasta and handling washing machines does not constitute "growing up"
Possibly because most students don't work here due to the limited possibilities of the job market, so you have a mass of them who believe that they've reached adulthood because they could manage the daily grind of going to the local supermarket, ironing their clothes and choosing where to go binge drinking when their parents send them money, on their own

Most virgin comment in this thread. You've clearly never lived with a woman if you think they struggle away from Daddy. It's always the lads in the first year of college who have the hardest time adjusting and wind up dropping out the most.
>>75817258
There was a lad in my secondary that didn't go to college. Probably didn't get enough points since he was a bit thick and never studied. Feel bad for him, don't think he had many friends and the only career path he can really take at this stage would be working in SuperValu or something.
>>75817214
>>75817254
Most men cannot cook, clean, iron, wash clothes, manage finances, or look after themselves in anyway.
>>75817399
Our perspectives are different but whether it was true or not those who didn't go to college would have this view of those that did. Nobody wants to live a life where they believe their circumstances or decisions have caused them to miss out.
I see it said a lot, mainly from the working class right or first year dropouts and never from people who have actually graduated college.

The assertion doesn't really make any sense. Are you suggesting the entirety of the upper and middle class and virtually every person in a high paying job are childlike?
Categorically the least responsible people in the country are those on the dole and only a tiny percentage of those are college graduates.
>>75817677

Not really I'm just making an observation. Haven't once resorted to screaming in anger and throwing around insults threats.
Think people here have anger issues. Male trait really.
>>75817690
Only the first comment is mine but I don't have any issue with men. I've shared houses with men and women before in college and my observation is that the women were generally better at looking after themselves in terms of ability to cook, clean after themselves and manage their time between studies and social life.
>>75817697
>entirety of the upper and middle class and virtually every person in a high paying job are childlike
There you go with your classism again, ironic since my lower class friends are in uni while my upper class friends got stuck in dead-end courses.

I don't like to use classism but it is true that the vast majority of those in leadership positions across the sectors are college educated. You're using it yourself by classing your friends but I don't know what the anecdote is meant to illustrate. I wasn't implying rich people are smarter or make better life decisions, I was asserting that college aids development into adulthood.

I was sharing with 5 other girls at one stage and the shower was an unholy mess. Cosmetics falling into the sink constantly, smears of hair colouring all over the shower that nobody ever washes, used towels on the floor that were never claimed. Hair dryer constantly goes missing.
The lads just leave some lynx shower gel in there and thats it.

The thing is we weren't discussing wealth or class, we were debating whether college students nowadays are mature functional adults to which I say no the majority aren't. You're jumping to assumptions by thinking I'm talking about all college students ever when I'm only referring to modern students, ie. within the last 10 or so years, very few of which are in high paying jobs or leadership positions I may add. It's a problem that affects all youth today, the difference is people tend to mature when they work which modern students delay to in order to continue their comfortable existence of doing nothing but sleeping through lectures and drinking the nights away.
